Manjhi: The Mountain Man Audience Reviews

Linbeymusol Wonderful character development!
Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
Brenda The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
sevdakarababa-71077 I m watching Bollywood movies to understand Hindi language and find out similar words with my language. So that reason i have to watch so many movies. I like the idea of movie but didnt like it script, dialoque and directors job. Some of the acting isnt good tooo much acting makes fake its not natural. i wish they showed more paralel political and social statu changing in India same time.
Shakiul Good Hindi movie is rare. It's one of the rare ones. Actually in bollywood where movies are made, such that after watching those you would feel you just wasted your 2.5 hours, if u are a real good movie lover. From that point of view it's a great movie. It's not typical bollywood movie which are nothing movie. Recently bollywood actually making some good bilographical movies. Though in this movie too like them, there are a little (not much to bother) bollywoody things like unnecessarily focusing & driving plot by emmotion anyway but this movie is worth watching specially such great acting by nawazuddin siddique..
rajatdahiyax Manjhi - The Mountain Man is a 2015 Indian biographical film, based on the life of Dashrath Manjhi. Manjhi, widely known as the "Mountain Man", was a poor labourer in Gehlaur village, near Gaya in Bihar, India, who carved a path 9.1 metres (30 ft) wide and 110 metres (360 ft) long through a hill 7.6 metres (25 ft) using only a hammer and chisel.Nawazuddin Siddiqui enacted the role of Dashrath Manjhi, while Radhika Apte played Manjhi's wife.In the 1960s Dashrath Manjhi (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) lived in a small village Gehlaur near Gaya, Bihar, India with his family including his wife Phaguniya Devi (Radhika Apte). There was a rocky mountain near his village that people either had to climb across or travel round to gain access to medical care at the nearest town Wazirganj. One day Manjhi's wife fell while trying to cross the mountain, after which Manjhi decided to carve a road through it. When he started hammering the hill people called him a lunatic but that only steeled his resolve further. After 22 years of back-breaking labour, Manjhi carved a path 360 feet long, 25 feet deep in places and 30 feet wide.Manjhi died in 2007. The film's postscript states that 52 years after he started breaking the mountain, 30 years after he finished and 4 years after his death the government finally made a metalled road to Gehlaur in 2011.
bajaj-sahil I would say it is the Indian version of Shawshank Redemption. Both these movies are amazing tributes to the indomitable human spirit and that is where the parallel ends. The setting and context are very different for the two movies. The love story provides a very nice context to narrate the story of how frail man surmounts all odds. The social issues of caste system, politics, corruption and the Indian indifferent attitude have been blended very nicely in the story which has taken inspiration from the life of protagonist Dasrath Majhi. There is an amazing simplicity in the entire narration with contextual comedy, scores at the right moment which maintain the tempo of the movie. I found it a gripping narration.Nawaz-ud-din Siddque has done justice to the character. In fact there are very few in Bollywood who could have pulled it off. He is sure growing in stature with every movie.I hope it gets a nomination for the Oscars in some category.
