666: The Devil's Child Audience Reviews

TaryBiggBall It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
Plustown A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
BelSports This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Kayden This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
Leofwine_draca 666 THE DEVIL'S CHILD is an example of a Z-grade shot-on-video indie horror flick, released as found footage movie. The plot is a little reminiscent of CATFISH and sees an attractive young couple visiting an online friend only to discover that her house is apparently haunted. What follows is a very bad PARANORMAL ACTIVITY copy padded out with endless scenes of the main characters making out. Both are very bland and very little happens other than non-actress Nadya Suleman (the famous 'Octomom') making a fool of herself in support. This one's a real patience-tester.
befoulmetalroosa This was an exercise in pointlessness. A woman and her friend go to the house of a hook up for the friend. She's along because she's doing her end of term film on supernatural phenomenon, and the hook up promises plenty, since her house is connected to Native Americans in some way. Turns out the house is built on sacred ground, where a bloody massacre of hundreds of Native Americans had occurred. Add in that the hook up is really a succubus, and the woman has bleeding bug bites on her, obviously fake, belly, and that's the film. In a nutshell. No baby, no pregnancy until the last two, maybe three minutes. A couple of 'ghost' sightings, but why? I mean, if the child is supposed to be the devil's, why have the 'ghostly' appearances. And all they did was stand there, or float horizontally above the woman, with a gaping mouth. That's it.The succubus is quite beautiful and seductive. For the most part, the character works as a one-dimensional tramp. The man in this film was, for the most part, lazy in his performance and his line delivery. No real passion in his performance. The woman filmmaker was, in a word, horrible. The man-faced woman looked like a drag queen, and delivered her lines in a near mumble for most of the movie. It was almost as if she had her jaws wired shut. Not worth the time.
markbymonterey The filming method of characters holding the camera and filming each other was novel and interesting, but the plot was thin. There were about eight scenes of the ithyphallic woman making love to the man: one or two make the point. It was a 20 minute story made into an 80 minute movie. The famous "Octomom" (Nadya Suleman) was surprisingly good as an actress, but the story--woman entices man to have devil's child--only works for so long. The story goes down blind alleys. Why does the woman have bleeding on her stomach? Why does the man seem groggy? Why don't they just leave the house? The movie is scary in a couple parts, but the ending is not satisfying.
