Over a year, we follow the former Swedish Minister of Defense, Anders Björck, in his work as governor of Uppsala County. The official position is almost 400 years old, and the job consists of sitting at a big desk, having lunch meetings with other governors, cutting ribbons at opening ceremonies, holding speeches and eating dinner with the King and Queen of Sweden. It is hard work, but someone has to do it. Björck gives the viewer full access, making this personal portrait both humorous and very, very serious.

Mr. Governor Audience Reviews

Greenes Please don't spend money on this.
Numerootno A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
ActuallyGlimmer The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Ramalama_FFF I was expecting good things here. Björck is an interesting character in political debates and as far as I can remember this received positive reviews when it was released. Turns out it's just 80 minutes of boredom. But expect pretentious people to call it "brilliant" without any actual arguments. A lot of people have been critical about all those entertaining American documentaries of the 21st century, but the opposite is a not a recipe for success. I suppose there are some nice moments with regards to the formal aspect of film as a medium, but the content is barely there. I give it 3/10 which to me is barely above plain bad.
