Rainbow Audience Reviews

CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Kirandeep Yoder The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
Staci Frederick Blistering performances.
freeboarder Wow!!! So happy I have finally got to see this. Remember seeing it in the video shop as a kid and the cover looked magical. Picked it up for 20p from a charity shop today. IT IS SO COOL.Basically these kids hang round a train yard playing in the trains and exploring the city. One day one of them sees a rainbow land in front of him and its the most magical thing ever. Now all the kids want to find the rainbow again....maybe it will take them somewhere....maybe it will change everything.....Hope you enjoy it. Kids from age of 7 to 10 should absolutely love this.I'm 29 and I love it so adults should like it a lot too.
beeble_bee crap storyline....long story short. Three kids, one of em is called Mike and he has an older brother (who steals 3 gold pieces of prism from the rainbow) and 2 other of Mikey's friends chase a rainbow and travel through the rainbow. By the older brother's greedy action to steal the gold which make part of the structure of the rainbow, it starts to affect their world. Without light, there is no colour, no photosynthesis...no oxygen. This movie is a cross between Pleasantville and War Of The Worlds, but kids' style. This movie bored me to death. Ending was so predictable. Bad stunts and bad acting. Bad concept. Overall..it sucks...it's categorised as comedy. Throughout the movie, i did not laugh. I only laughed once, was when one of Mike's friends, sucked in helium n began 2 speak in that squeaky voice.
imdb2-37 I think the folks who didn't like the second half missed the point -- its supposed to show the world falling apart, becoming dull & lifeless... the Rainbow gives power, light, and energy to the Earth. I thought it was a great fantasy movie, especially for kids -- it has an original story, with a wise and timeless moral lesson that is not too heavy handed. The effects are outstanding, especially remember this film is from 1996. The ride inside the rainbow is worth the price of the whole movie. How many of us wish we could go inside that kind of ride? If you're looking for a decent family film without sex, violence, or a puppet show, here's a real film both kids and parents can enjoy... its a good one for everybody
dillo Bob Hoskins does the most convincing American accent I've ever heard a British actor do, but directing doesn't seem to come as naturally as dialect. This movie features unattractive leading children, unbelievable school situations, stereotypical 'media' types, and completely fails to persuade even the most credulous that the magic is *there*. Special effects are variable, but generally poor. Unconvincing acting ruins what might have been rather good dialogue. It's a shame. I really, really wanted to like this movie, but there was no there there.
