Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) This is the 13th and final "Schulmädchen" movie since 1970. There was a gap of over 2 years between this and movie number 12, so I guess they were not sure if they should make another one. The gaps between previous movies were only 6 months up to 1 year. The schoolgirls from 1970 have grown up, but there is always new material. The good thing I can say about this film is that it is not the worst of these movies, probably not even close to. But yet, if I give it a rating of 2/10 you can imagine what that says about the other films. The director is Walter Boos again and the film's writer is Günther Heller. Boos directed several "Schulmädchen" movies and was also an assistant director on Oscar nominee "The Devil Came at night" several decades earlier. Heller wrote every single one of the "Schulmädchen" movies. This one here runs for 83 minutes. It's an average value. Some of the "Schulmädchen" movies run for over 90 minutes, some don't even reach the 80-minute mark.The only fairly known actress in this film is Katja Bienert. Thanks to her exotic looks, she plays a Greek school girl who gets into conflict with the law and a horny store detective. In contrast to her, they included a girl who looks the exact opposite in the second segment, one with short blonde hair and she has a problem with alcoholism. looks like the schoolgirls' struggles become more grown up now as well. Or not really. The last segment is about the struggles of four schoolgirls and -boys, who are not really sure which is the right one for them. I am a bit surprised the one guy even considered that flat-breasted German chick over the hot French girl. Of course, the filmmakers will not miss out on a juicy cat-fight with that scenario. Oh yeah, and in-between we get the usual routine of these films where schoolgirls try to turn on their teachers. As always, the movie, and at the same time the series, ends with a statement by the narrator again which is not entirely bad this time and not as pretentious and totally not referring to the movie which we just saw as it has been the case in previous films. But as a whole, it is still a very weak movie.

lazarillo This is the last of the infamous German "Schulmadchen Report" films. The frame story involves a bunch of teenagers and their teacher rehearsing "Romeo and Juliet" and discussing tales of modern love, none of which have anything remotely in common with "Romeo and Juliet". The first involves a young shoplifter blackmailed into giving up her virginity to a lecherous security guard with tragic results. The second involves a young lothario getting his comeuppance. The third kind of resembles a German version of "Sarah-Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic" but with a lot more gratuitous nudity and softcore sex. The fourth is about two dumb couples trying to have sex in a hayloft for some reason and getting interrupting by an elderly couple who turn out to be peeping toms. The last involves a guy who gets his friend to help him juggle two hot-to-trot girls. This last vignette especially wouldn't have been out of place in an American teen comedy of that era except that there is no pretense anyone involved here is a virgin, and it ends with a double wedding!This is not nearly as good as some of the earlier "Report" films I've seen, but I did find it genuinely nostalgic in a way. The early 1980's were a lot closer to my own adolescence than the early 1970's which I barely remember. Moreover, where the earlier films featured stunning beauties like Christina Lindberg, this generally features much more ordinary-looking girls (with the exception of the leggy blonde who is acting as Juliet in the frame story, for some reason in lamee hot pants, and the notorious Katia Bienert, from Jess Franco movies, who plays the young shoplifter). They reminded me of the attractive, if somewhat slutty, girls a few years ahead of me in school at that time (except, of course, they were American rather than German and their words usually matched their lips when they spoke).You might not want to see this if you're just a pervert looking to ogle barely-legal "schulmadchens", but if you want to wax nostalgic about the barely-there female fashions and hedonistic mores of the early 80's (or if you're a pervert, but still want to wax nostalgic), I don't know--this is alright I guess.

Ekkard This Movie goes to the depths of a young girls soul, moving each and every part of us, touching dark places like nobody before. A hot, pumping powerhouse of a movie and a highlight in german film making. I would call it a genre in itself. It is a picture that shook the lost generation of the late seventies and woke them up emotionally. It feels so good to look at it realizing it has lost not an ounce of its intensity. A critical look at puberty blues and young girls desires. Watch it with your children. Watch also: Story of Ricky.
