Twenty years ago, Kurt Cobain was found dead of an apparent gunshot wound to the head. The world was told it was a suicide, but evidence would lead many people to believe it might be otherwise. The film investigates the possibilities that exist that Kurt Cobain's death might not have been a suicide, that the Seattle Police Department rushed their verdict, and the global media perpetuated lies and misinformation fed to them by Courtney Love that created the belief in many that Cobain killed himself—but when revealed to be lies—lead many to now question what happened.

AniInterview Sorry, this movie sucks

Limerculer A waste of 90 minutes of my life
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Jason Pfaff A seamless documentary that really should have been a Oscar contender. The film clearly shows there is enough evidence to reopen the investigation into Cobain's death, and I'm betting there is more evidence that wasn't accounted for here. The fact is, over twenty years later, this is still a hot topic that doesn't seem to be going away any time soon, so why not reopen the damn case? I heard this film was one of the most obstructed in history- in other words, people we're trying really hard to prevent this film from being seen, that in itself is enough reason to watch it. Benjamin Statler surely has a bright future ahead in the world of filmmaking and I can't wait to see his next film.
banghi Sad that folks are buying this mass of lies. Near the beginning Tom makes a point that Courtney called him 5 days prior on Easter Sunday. He made a deal about his working on Sunday. Kurt passed the week prior, Easter was the day of the memorial service at the Seattle Center. Thousands of us came out that afternoon to mourn together. I will never forget that day and think of it every Easter.Nothing this man says in the film is credible.Think critically and do not buy into the obvious falsehoods. Do your own research, find the answers on your own, but please do not take this film at face value.Honor Kurts memory, but know this film is just a bunch of lies.
Cynnik Tom Grant has long said he has hundreds of hours of documentation that proves that Courtney had a hand in Kurt's murder. I was ready to have my mind blown. Not a single thing in this documentary affirmed his position. Courtney's behavior in the film is consistent with a drug addict, and he himself said she was high in all of those recordings. Listening to the audio, it really sounds like she believed he was alive. Tom Grant has made a name for himself based on these extreme assumptions and hunches. So many of these have been explained and debunked, especially the level of heroin in the bloodstream, but Grant refuses to acknowledge them. They say there is a lack of similar cases in law enforcement records, but do not acknowledge the medical studies.I was very disappointed in this film, but it laid my doubts of Courtney's statements to rest. IF anything, IF Kurt REALLY had help, the most logical thing that comes to me is that his friend may have assisted him in his suicide. That's a stretch though, and is solely based on this documentary. Nothing else has ever pointed me to think this. One thing that really irked me about the film, though, is that they have people "close" to Kurt that say he didn't seem depressed and they didn't think he was suicidal. Exactly. That is typical for a clinically depressed person. Adult suicides are usually shocking for that very reason.
Coldwhiteroses This was a well made film and I believe the intention behind the film is genuine, one that is seeking what the makers feel is justice. However, I'm not sure anyone who made this film has ever loved or deeply known a heroin addict. I have. An active heroin addict is not a healthy, happy person. An active heroin addict with a child who has a history of being removed from their home and what appears to be an impending divorce is most definitely not happy. With 30 approaching, being terribly addicted to heroin leads to a person who does not like to look in the mirror anymore. This does not mean he committed suicide, but it troubles me Cobain was portrayed as so happy, so healthy, when any longterm drug addict knows they've burnt endless bridges, wasted too much money, lied to and deceived every person they care about. And as far as being "suicidal" one thing a drug addict knows above and beyond anything else is that they might not die today but they are slowly killing themselves regardless.
