The Curse of Snake Valley Audience Reviews

Linbeymusol Wonderful character development!
Borserie it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.
Usamah Harvey The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Darin One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
Victor First time when I saw this movie - it was about 20 years ago. Incredible adventures in jungle, ancient mysteries and science-fiction plot - these parts of one of the best movies of 80th. If you like Indiana Jones movies, books with Allan Quatermain and StarGate series - you have to watch this movie. Several words about name of this movie: I suppose that the correct name of this movie is. "Conjuration of snake valley". This valley was not cursed but it contained ancient dangerous mysteries. Let's move to comparison with Stargate movies. Jan Taranas like Daniel Jackson guessed about the encrypted manuscript and about valley where great force exists. And one man Bernard Traven who gave manuscript to Jan visited this valley 30 years before and stole strange idol with a snake head. The manuscript leaded to valley in jungle with monk who said that this valley was forbidden to visit. But our heroes didn't listen to monk warnings and they came to valley... Even now this movie is very interesting.
andreygrachev I was interested in this film because genius composer Sven Grunberg composed his brilliant score for this title. Sven is famous for his analogue electronic music back to 70s. Sven even made instruments by himself, so he sounds really awesome. Concerning the film it is a fantastic mixture of adventure, mystery, far east buddism and sci fi.If you like Indiana Jones , cannibal movies and all those mystic exotic jungle stories with supernatural sequences- do not loose this one. No doubt -this one is masterpiece and has perfect plot and rather good for eastern Europe 80s special effects.www.myspace.com/neizvestnostlab
denis888 When it first came out and was on Russian cinema screens, we all ran to watch it as it seemed to be so superbly executed, so well done. Now, after a while, it is virtually impossible to watch it without laughter. Take note, the plot is very good. The trio of adventurous pals, a man who is a scientist, a fine lady and a former military pilot are in the Tibetian jungles looking for some mysterious vase that holds a metal container that is of no mundane origin. Then, after a series of head-breaking dangers, this container gets to the lab and reveals its horrid demolishing might. But mind you, if this were a Hollywood film, with, say, Sean Connery, Hillary Swank and somebody else in the cast, and with real video effects, than it would work out well. Here, we see incredibly weak actors (polish stars of medium level), unbelievably bad cartoon effects, so bad that you must rub your eyes in total amazement! And the phrases! The dialogs are so pompous, so puffy and pretentious (like, "We really must take care of the Earth", or "This will bring danger to the whole humankind"), and the way they are delivered is so false, that again you have to wipe your eyes as you'd been laughing so hard. In fact, this film was conceived a fairly serious work of some epic scale, and as a result it is now a first-rate comedy both in Poland and Russia. People watch it for hearty laughs. There is a cute fact that this film, Klatwa Doliny Wezy, was included in the list of All-time-worst Polish films ever made, and was shown on the 2002's festival of such films. Anyway, watch it for good mood and many hearty laughs. Such badly made films are a rarity these days...
