Tomorrow, When the War Began Audience Reviews

Perry Kate Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Jeanskynebu the audience applauded
AboveDeepBuggy Some things I liked some I did not.
Forumrxes Yo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film, like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.
calvinerkens Didn't realize these were a written series originally. That said, I thought is was a pretty descent storyline- remarkably similar to Red Dawn, but still well written. It would have been good to see more defiant acts and action along the way, or at least the implication of a sequel.
Dawnine I stumbled upon this title a long time ago and, without reading anything about it, gave it a whirl. It took me on an unexpected ride. I loved it.I am a fan of the 1984 Red Dawn movie. In fact, this time around I actually watched that movie first and then came back to this one. The re- make of Red Dawn was a severe disappointment for me but this gave me a modern adaptation that, while not based in the USA, was both feasible and engaging. This is the story that people should be made aware of.I believe that it has been turned into a series, somewhere. Although I might be tempted, this contained cinematic version hits the best spots while leaving the future uncertain. I don't care. I love this movie.
jimanuel12 i am just amazed that most of the reviews here for any movie - are always worse than anyone can believe. most of the trolls on here don't know a good movie when they see one. this is a very good movie - the acting is very good - the special effects will blow you away. it is really like an Australian version of "Red Dawn" - it is kind of silly that a group of teenagers would go to war and hold off an experienced army that has invaded their country but at the the same time you have to remember that was the setting in Red Dawn also. i had never heard of the movie until a saw a trailer on another DVD - so i had to buy it and was not at all disappointed. if you liked Red Dawn - then you will like this one also. If you hated Red Dawn - then you will hate this one as well. But - give it a chance and judge for yourself - don't let the trolls here make the decision for you. i for one - i liked it very much and plan to watch it again very soon.
xdeathbringerr Watch this if you are either/or a 12-year old girl, enjoy excessive drama and would like to waste 1.5 hours of your life watching this unfinished dump. I actually am so dissatisfied that I am writing this review. From the start, I was under the impression that this was just another chick-flick, as the main characters are female and they started off talking about boys and sex. This immediately ruined the overall apocalyptic and war-like setting. The drama is to the point where I actually cringed several times. They are at war, the country is being f*cking invaded and they are worried about what Lee or the long haired Greek guy thinks about them? Better yet, they always engage in these discussions at the WORST POSSIBLE TIMES. It's extremely unrealistic. Trained soldiers shoot at these teens from point blank and miss every single shot. There is an explosion at some point and I actually counted 3-4 individual explosions from one trigger. Seems legit. A helicopter notices them, miniguns attached and does not shoot? Also, the invaders also do not seem to have any clue as to radio communications or calling for reinforcements. Cringe. Worst of all, it is a totally unfinished product. The first 60 minutes is describing the already terribly designed setting, establishing and defining inter-character relationship. There was only 47 minutes left of potential action. (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!) THERE WAS NONE. In these 47 minutes, you do not see anything new, more drama, more crying and whining and the generic plot twists and happy ending. Never do we see their parents once, never do we see any intervention with soldiers and how they actually fight back. Why the f*ck do you make a (war) movie, you finally the setting and then YOU DO NOT PROVIDE A CLIMAX TO THE STORY? W T FWhoever directed this, please quit your job. This movie was an absolute flop.
