Venus and Mars Audience Reviews

ReaderKenka Let's be realistic.
SincereFinest disgusting, overrated, pointless
Maidexpl Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast
Alasdair Orr Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
KineticSeoul The main reason I wanted to watch this was cause of Kim Tae-hee, I never thought she was a phenomenal actress or anything but she fit right into this role. The story isn't anything amazing, just about a couple that constantly fight with each other and breaks up but continues to fight in a comical and crazy manner. I was actually kinda entertained while watching the constant fights amongst this crazy couple although everything about it is unbelievable from beginning to end. But I guess that is something positive, cause it goes in this weird wacky direction.6.2/10
gridoon2018 And I say "variation" because the two main characters here are already divorced, not married, when the main story begins. Other than that, "Venus and Mars" follows the same pattern of a couple whose initial minor misunderstandings and differences of character gradually escalate into an anything-goes physical war. So the material is kind of derivative, but the director tries to make it look as original as possible, mostly by blending in memories and fantasies of the characters along with the "real" narrative. The film is largely a matter of taste, as both characters are neurotic, obsessive and loud, and their feelings for each other go through more swings than the pendulum that the man is desperately searching for. One sequence that doesn't really work is the car chase - it's all too obviously "computerized". The female lead, Tae-hee Kim, is gorgeous to say the least. **1/2 out of 4.
