War Pigs Audience Reviews

BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
Intcatinfo A Masterpiece!
Kailansorac Clever, believable, and super fun to watch. It totally has replay value.
Humaira Grant It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Chris_Mac_25 This looks like it was choreographed by a group of children playing war games. Mickey Rourke continues his tradition of signing on to movies that offer minimal screen time in return for a wage, whereby he arrives on set, appears to completely disregard any kind of script or appearance guidelines and carries on like a lunatic. In this case he's a cowboy hat wearing, long haired Colonel or something. It would be more convincing if he was a patient in a psych ward. The movie is just plain bad It's how I picture the cinematic endeavours of a group of war history buffs.
Leofwine_draca WAR PIGS is a typical low rent WW2-themed B-movie; this genre is never very interesting and this film is no exception. A bunch of green American troops head into occupied France to battle the Nazis during the D-Day invasion, but the only action here is set in one or two countryside locations. Mickey Rourke is prominently billed but only has a small cameo, while Dolph Lundgren struggles with his French accent throughout. Luke Goss is underutilised as the dashing hero and it's left to a bunch of uninteresting youngsters to take the lead. There are a few shoot-outs and some scenes of torture but this is generally a dud, lacking in suspense, thrills, or excitement.
rangerscustoms OK.. They are using weapons that weren't even invented yet. The Springfield M14 is in this movie, which wouldn't be made for another 10 years, "1959". Also, they didn't even have mags in their M14's!! What the heck? One is even OD green, which shows its an air-soft gun, how do I know?? I own a few of them. Haha.. Flag patches are backwards as well. Also, terrible acting! Not sure if mentioning the use of the wrong era weapons would actually be considered a spoiler, but I clicked the spoiler box, just in case.
Wizard-8 Of all the people who worked on "War Pigs" in front of or behind the camera, only Dolph Lundgren survives more or less intact. His character was written with a few interesting quirks, and Lundgren does put in some effort in his performance. The rest of the cast and characters have nothing special about them to report (Mickey Rourke only has three brief scenes, for one thing.) The drab characters and performances are just part of the reason why this movie is surprisingly dull. The first half of the movie (mostly to do with training the title squad) has almost no action. And the training is nothing special, just routines you've seen in other special mission movies before, with not even any comic relief to stir things up (at least, comic relief that's funny.) Once the movie moves to the actual mission, things aren't that much better. The movie is still slow moving and boring, even when they throw in some token action (which always ends not long after it begins.) I've seen documentaries that had much more life than what's found in this movie.
