The new science teacher Dr. Julian Olcott with a mysterious past arrives in an institutional boarding school for troublemaker girls. Along the night, the intern Mary Smith, who is blackmailing another teacher - Sir Alfred Whiteman - with some love letters, is slaughtered by a werewolf. The detective in charge of the investigation attributes the crime to a wolf, while her mate Priscilla believes she was killed by Sir Alfred. On the next days, other deaths happen in the school, reducing the list of suspects.

Werewolf in a Girls' Dormitory Audience Reviews

AshUnow This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Verity Robins Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Bezenby Isn't that title reassuring? It simply conveys the message that watching this film is the equivalent of wading into a lake of Fontina cheese with only Grissini as an oar. This is a werewolf film where the werewolf kills only one person in the entire film and even then it was by accident. It also plays out more like a giallo as folks within the film are murdered, savaged by dogs, commit suicide etc as we sit there trying to figure out who the killer is. Or, if we look closely enough, we can spot which actor is barely hiding under that werewolf makeup.Of course, these days the film would be called Jimmy Saville In A Women's Dormitory and be far far scarier, but back in those days people were more trusting of their light entertainers so what we have here is a girl's reformatory school (full of skanky Italian women) where the men are so sleazy one consoles himself following the lycanthropic murder of his beau by immediately hitting on his beau's best mate. Way to go, Sir Walter! Sir Walter also endears himself to the audience by leaving creepy caretaker Walter to be killed by the locals.Basically, one of these guys is a werewolf, someone's covering up the killings, and it's up to Priscilla (Polish, but extremely Italian looking Barbara Lass) to get to the bottom of the problem, along with teacher/suspect Dr Julian. The best bit was when the werewolf got ravaged by a dog and everyone started looking for a guy with a bum arm, which meant they descended on Walter, who obviously has a bad arm birth defect. Way to go, villagers. This is a stupid, but enjoyable film that shows you what the Italians would shortly be capable of.
Rainey Dawn The movie (aka Lycanthropus) is not downright horrible - it's kinda interesting in it's own way and to be honest it's the mystery aspect of this film that really fairly good. I had a bad copy of the movie to watch and had to miss some of the film because of it - but I did see enough of it to talk about it and to tell you if you like older lesser known B-rated horror and mystery films then you might like this movie. The English voice dubs are good - and you really do not notice all that much that the movie is dubbed from Italian to English.Werewolf in a Girls' Dormitory is aka in English as Ghoul in a Girl's Dormitory, Monster Among the Girls, I Married a Werewolf, The Ghoul in School and by it's original title Lycanthropus. So if you want to watch the film you have all the English titles to look up to find the film.4/10
bkoganbing Unless your taste runs to blood and gore I wouldn't get too exciting over the titillating title Werewolf In A Girl's Dormitory. Even though this is a special school for girls with behavioral problems they're all quite respectably clothed. There isn't even that much blood in the film although the usual screaming quotient is there. This film also illustrates the fickleness of careers even in one family. Around a time when Maximilian Schell got a Best Actor Oscar for Judgment At Nuremberg and sister Maria Schell was doing things like the big budget remake of Cimarron, brother Carl was busy doing Werewolf In A Girl's Dormitory. He's a new faculty member who actually is experimenting in lycanthropy when bodies start popping up around the school. Naturally suspicion falls on him.All kind of dumb, only for the most addicted horror and gore fan.
preppy-3 Badly dubbed "horror" movie takes place at a school for wayward girls. Handsome Dr. Julian Olcott (Carl Schell) has arrived to teach the girls science. Around this time a girl is found dead...supposedly killed by a wolf. However it isn't and the police realize it's a werewolf...but who? The movie provides multiple red herrings but you really won't care. Also this is only nominally a horror film. Most of the footage deals with a blackmail plot with only occasional bits with the werewolf! I saw the Mill Creek DVD and it was in OK condition--but the opening credits are completely missing! Also this is horribly dubbed and has entirely inappropriate music. This film also has wolves CONSTANTLY howling during the nighttime scenes. It's kind of spooky at first but is overused so much it's hard to take seriously. The werewolf makeup is kind of effective...but looks NOTHING like a werewolf! It has fangs and bushy eyebrows but no hair on its face at all! Looks more like a vampire than a wolf. The pace is slow, the murders tame and the 82 minutes drag out. Lead girl Barbara Lass is certainly beautiful and lead man Schell is handsome but their good looks can't help this. A boring forgettable horror film. It's probably only remembered for its title. A 1 all the way.
