WrestleMania IV was the fourth annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). It took place on March 27, 1988 at the Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The main event was the finals of a fourteen-man tournament for the undisputed WWF Championship, where Randy Savage defeated Ted DiBiase to win the vacant title. The main matches on the undercard were a twenty-man battle royal won by Bad News Brown, Demolition (Ax and Smash) versus Strike Force (Tito Santana and Rick Martel) for the WWF Tag Team Championship, Brutus Beefcake versus The Honky Tonk Man for the WWF Intercontinental Championship and a 14-man tournament for the vacated WWF Championship.

WWE WrestleMania IV Audience Reviews

Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
amanwhorocks 1. Royal Rumble 6/10 Tournament 2. Jim Duggan Vs. Ted Dibiase 4/103.Don Muraco Vs. Dino Bravo 5.5/10 4. Ricky Steamboat Vs. Greg Valentine - Come on Steamboat, was it necessary, to take baby with you toward the ring? What a theatrical farce :-/ 6/10 5. Butch Reed Vs. Randy Savage 6/10 6. One Man Gang Vs. Bam Bam Bigelow 5/10 7. Rick Rude Vs. Jake Roberts 6.5/10 8. Hercules Vs. The Warrior 5/10 9. Hulk Hogan Vs. Andre The Giant - Classic from these two. (and no contest) 5/10 10. Ted Dibiase Vs. Ted Dibiase - Elizabeth is really hot here! 5.5/10 Nothing special. :/
RepoManRules This show was on way too long. 4 HOURS! They only get 3 these days. And the whole show was lackluster. Although Savage winning the belt was special, the matches weren't. Andre vs. Hogan II was terrible. The match of the night went to Savage vs. Valentine and it was only ***! Yes! Just 3 stars! Not recommended.
Big Movie Fan Whilst I don't think WrestleMania IV was in the same league as the previous three events it was still a brilliant card. The main event of the card was a tournament for the WWF Title. Back in 1988 tournaments like this were actually unpredictable and anybody could win them. All the top good guys and bad guys fought in the tournament for a chance to win that prized WWF Title. The undercard was pretty good too. The powerful Ultimate Warrior brutalized Hercules in a good match. The devastating Demolition made their WrestleMania debut battling traditional good guys Strike Force. There was an entertaining and comedic match between Brutus Beefcake and The Honky Tonk Man. And for the first time since WrestleMania II we were treated to one of those Battle Royals which featured an entertaining ending.Check this video out if you can.
Jonas-4 Not the best WrestleMania ever in terms of actual wrestling quality, but what true fan doesn't love to see all their favorite guys battle it out in a tournament for the richest prize in the game? Jake Roberts vs. Rick Rude and Ted DiBiase vs. Randy Savage were both arguable classics, with a few more real good matches in the first round. The only problem is that there were a few too many matches, which meant that none of them were very long. Still, a very unique and memorable event.
