Info

After Lately is an American television comedy. The series depicts, in mockumentary style, the behind the scenes goings-on at the office of the late-night talk show Chelsea Lately. The cast is made up of the actual writers and performers of Chelsea Lately, who play themselves as they suffer the indignities and relish the perks of show business, bicker and argue over trivial and petty matters, compete for show air time and personal approval from Chelsea, and produce a nightly late-night cable comedy show. Celebrity guest stars regularly appear, playing parody versions of themselves, interacting with Chelsea and the cast. The series began airing on E! on March 6, 2011.

After Lately Audience Reviews

WasAnnon Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Patrick Mason (lordplayboyman) After Lately is a Mockumentary - a "behind the scenes" of the popular show "Chelsea Lately" on the E! Network. The good: It's not a Kardashian show, a major plus, and it is true original programming - there is no plot to it, and it never stops making you laugh. Another good thing the show has going for it: it's actually funny. It's not trying so hard to make you laugh at it - it's like second nature to the cast of this program, and they do it perfectly. The show has been on for 3 seasons, and I am waiting for a fourth season to show up.The bad: Too many people pass this show up. While it has no plot, that doesn't even remotely hurt it at all. It's a show that is what it is, and does well at being just that. If you haven't seen this show, please give it a viewing. The first and second seasons are on iTunes, and it will be money well spent.10/10
tesshick This show makes me laugh so hard. I have never seen anything capture the rawness and comedy of real life situations as After Lately does. I have to admit that I had no idea who Chelsea was or that this show was based on real people. Since Seinfeld went off the air, I haven't liked a lot of what I saw on TV. With most of the crap that's on T.V. I find that the acting is lacking and the jokes are, as Kramer would say, "soooooo played". After lately has a fresh and quick wit about it. I love the genuine, realistic, yet hilarious dialogue and interactions between the cast. Intelligent people with a sliver of a sense of humour will love this show.
captainflores I am a huge fan of Chelsea Handler and her show "Chelsea Lately". Her sarcastic sense of humor always has me bursting with laughter. Her new show "After Lately" has even more sarcasm and shines more on her employee's. The show may seem like a huge "The Office" rip-off but it's not trying for that awkwardness comedy. Their blunt with their jokes and they're pretty funny. The show has no plot and that, for an odd reason, turns people away. This show is a breath of fresh air from all the Kardashian shows popping up one after the other. I am a fan of the Kardasians but their shows get really annoying airing one after the other. That and Sex and the City which should have never been put on the network. Comedy is comedy and if you like to laugh watch it. For a bunch of unexperienced actors, besides Sarah Colonna, they're pretty believable with their sarcastic attitude. I like the show and hope it receives the better reviews it deserves.
sluna35 OK, first of all, I am a fan of Chelsea Handler and her show Chelsea Lately. I think that overall her comedy is good. However, her spin-off 'After Lately' is disappointing to say the least. Let's be honest, it is pretty obvious this show only came about because of her fame; there is no original plot for the show and no real reason for it's existence. The moment I saw the commercials for it I knew I was bound to find the show incredibly stupid. It's full of physical buffoonery, abuse of staff and nasty remarks, the only difference is that they're not funny. It's OK when you see it on the show 'Chelsea Lately', but on this show it just fails and looks fake. In addition, the acting is horrible. You can tell that the cast is forcing their acting, they giggle when they deliver the lines and it's just simply amateur work. I realize they are not professional actors, nor does the show promote them as actors, but there should be a minimum level of quality of acting for a show on E! that isn't really a reality, and the quality of work is dismal. I heard this show is supposed to be inspired or related to the popular show 'The Office', but After Lately fails at delivering witty comedy and simply gives you a sense of overall stupidity.I am really torn to give this show such a bad review because I am a fan of Chelsea Handler, but, for her own sake, it should be canceled.
