Hottoceame The Age of Commercialism
AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
Numerootno A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
wjf0511 This was becoming my all time favorite show (With the possible exception of Married with Children) When I tuned in to watch the 7th episode and it didn't come on I was terribly disappointed. The network big wigs who decided to end this series for reasons of political correctness have got to be some of the dumbest people in the industry.
RavenGlamDVDCollector As a South African, I saw this on M-Net's Open Time, Fridays at 18:30, so the one thing I am up on you lot of Americans: I saw the whole thing, nyaah! nyaah! nyaah! Now that was years ago, so filling in the blanks here on IMDb is not going to be my strong suit, and I won't even try, even though I'm pretty sure of some facts. It's another one of those shows that I didn't really intend to watch, but I was monitoring (with my VCR on standby) the evening's menu, M-Net Premium Time began at 19:00. I made a point of watching when I saw that this one rose far, far above the level of junk spewed out in great gobs at us. Unfortunately, I didn't record a damn thing, because with a TV series, I insisted on having the whole thing, and this only became popular with me while it was on.So I read here the review mentioning how that person have 5 episodes and pulls out the tape every now and then, and I yell FOOL at myself for missed opportunities.People, appreciate what you have access to! Hold on to your favorites! I could do with this show right now on a cold winter's morning, a good rollicking laugh! Heed my words! As for the negative response for that stupid reason, there wasn't anything mean-spirited there. Screw political correctness anyway.Unavailable on DVD? Shops, you lose! Right now, I am in a mood to buy ten copies.
ian_j_courter I remember watching this show when it first aired. It was refreshing, creative, and a little risqué. I believe it was during one of the network strikes and was done as a filler. The use of the ludicrous and non-PC physical humor was great. The opening scene of the Sherpas finding the frozen explorer and debating whether to retrieve him set the tone for the whole first episode...who knew Sherpas could be funny! The blind gentleman destroying everything he touched was a return to more of the physical comedy of an earlier era.Presently trying to track down which network aired it and if it will be on DVD sometime in the future. Definitely doesn't deserve to sit on a warehouse shelf unwatched. Four stars!
ShaneEK Being a Teri Garr fan, I was excited to hear of a show starring her. When I saw the first episode, I was immediately hooked. The humor is wacky, hilarious, and executed perfectly by the whole cast. If you liked "Soap," you will like this show as well. I'm pretty sure it was produced by the same people. It's sad that shows of this caliber are not kept by the networks. I don't know if it has ever been shown on any of the cable or satellite channels, but if it ever is, be sure to catch it. I guarantee you will get several good laughs. Only six episodes were ever aired. I don't know if more were made or not. I was able to get 5 of the 6 when they originally were shown, and every few years I pull the tape out and watch it again. Great stuff!
