Man, Woman, Wild Audience Reviews

Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
GamerTab That was an excellent one.
Exoticalot People are voting emotionally.
Josephina Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
dazjam Had to pen this in answer to the review that calls it pathetic then goes on to praise Bear "gimme money" Grylls - Whaaat?! I would have to assume that reviewer is around 10 years old.Ruth and Mykel are a cute married couple who obviously have great fun in their relationship and it shines through in the show. He's the caveman ex-army guy from USA and she's the squealing British newsreader with little to no experience but a ton of enthusiasm. Their couple dynamic and Ruth's reactions are amusing and balance the "danger" and survival tips nicely. While some of the scenarios are reminiscent of Les Stroud's "survivorman", this goes it's own way and makes no bones about being a survival entertainment series with camera crew and backup. No imbecilic posturing or eating bear crap here, thank goodness.2 seasons worth which I watched with my daughter of 21 and my partner. We all enjoyed it thoroughly and actually learnt a few things too. Had a few giggles and would happily watch more.As for Mykel's growly voice and his regular "hey baby" to his wife, they are part of the charm. Good stuff.
Harrison Koch Man, Woman, Wild is a great survival show. There is just the right amount of enthusiasm and energy, without being absurd and over-the-top like Man Vs. Wild. A little more up-beat than Survivorman, it nonetheless features many fantastic survival tips not featured in other survival shows. The dichotomy between Myke and Ruth is what makes the show fun to watch. The two both have much to add, but obviously Myke has a lot more knowledge and expertise in the field of survival. Personally I love the stoic Survivorman, show, which I feel like this closely emulates because it features realistic tips and exercises that one could take into the field (as opposed to Bear Grylles who often does absurdly dangerous stunts and feats that only a super-athlete could do while in survival mode--killing the rest of us instantly). Over-all a very enjoyable hour of television every time. I'll miss the show!
jai_eat_world This show is Terrible! (Note the capital'T'). He has a voice that sounds as if he is constantly squeezing out a poo. She wont stop complaining about anything and everything. Together they use pet names so frequently you start to forget the meaning of the word: "Baby".I strongly believe this to be a cash grab based on the success of a better known and overall better quality show of the same theme. This show teaches me next to nothing in the way of survival skills. I watch this poor excuse for a show for its comedy value. It really is hilarious just how pathetic the show and characters really are. Stick with the original and the best: Bear Grylls.
johnstrash1 Man, Woman, Wild gives a new unique perspective to the ever growing list of survival shows. I am not referring to the fact that one of the hosts is a woman, but rather that one of the hosts is a ordinary person, who just happens to be a woman.Although I consider myself a bit of an outdoorsman, I find that out of all the different people making shows of this sort, it is Ruth Hawke that I can relate to the most. That she has a hard time with different aspects of each episode really does give viewers a much more realistic idea of what it would be like to be in the same situation. Whether anyone wants to admit it or not, the vast majority of us would be a lot more like her if we were lost in the wilds than we would be like her husband or Bear Grylls. As for her husband, Mykel Hawkes is a military trained survival expert. His personality is what you would expect from a someone with this background and his disposition can be somewhat rigid. But the interaction he has with his wife definitely improves it and together they can even be funny at times. And he does know his stuff pretty well.Overall, the show fits into the same category as others like Man versus Wild and Dual Survival. All of these are staged at points (as mentioned in the disclaimer before each episode) and are not real survival like Survivorman. Regardless, it is still educational and very entertaining.
