The Rich List is an American television game show on Fox, that aired its only episode on November 1, 2006 at 9PM ET / PT. The show was then canceled two days later by Fox after rating poorly in comparison to its slot competitors, Lost and CBS's Criminal Minds. It was produced by the British company 12 Yard, who also produced Weakest Link and Dog Eat Dog. It featured competitors making lists of things, such as ABBA songs or Steven Spielberg movies, with the winning team being the one that could name the most. British television presenter Eamonn Holmes was the host. In the episode, Holmes stated, "Our top prize is so big...well, we don't have a top prize!" Despite its failure, two and a half years later, a revised version aired on GSN under the title The Money List, with Fred Roggin hosting.

The Rich List Audience Reviews

Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
WeekendUpdateAnchor Tonight, FOX premiered The Rich List, a new game show that touts being the richest show on television. They also said that it was the most addicting game show since Who Wants to be a Millionaire. That would have been an understatement. The Rich List is even more addicting. In fact, it is actually one of the best game shows I have ever seen. It's odd for me to say that considering that I only saw one episode, but that was enough to know. (And I'm a huge game show fan!) Usually, game shows ask questions that only have one answer. This show has many more answers, usually more than 50. The questions on the show are actually quite easy, but it's up to the teams on how many they are willing to answer. An example was to name Tom Cruise movies. (I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise, but I did have some of the titles in my head.) So to begin, a team said that they could name about 10. Now they go to the other team, and see how much they are willing to go for. The amount gets higher until the other team folds, forcing the team with the highest amount to match the number of answers they said they could produce. Then, they have to actually answer the amount they said they could. If they match their number, they get a point. If they get a single answer that isn't one of the eligible ones, the other team gets a point. First one to two wins. The bonus round works the same way, except they have to answer a set number of answers (15). For every three that they answer correctly, they win an amount of money. The first three wins a modest amount of money, while the final three are worth huge amounts of money.Well, it's true that people can win millions, although it may take more than 1 episode to surpass the million dollar mark. However, that's what makes the show so great: contestants get to keep coming back if they win the main game, regardless of how they do in the bonus round. What makes it even better is that the teams consist of 2 complete strangers. It is very interesting to watch the teams work together. For example, the first episode, one team had 2 very different people that really didn't seem to look like they would work well together. However, as they worked together to win the game, they seemed to really become a team in the sense of winning for each other. They went on to win $175,000 alone in the first episode and are coming back in the 2nd one! I'm really looking foreword to future episodes. The gameplay is fantastic and the host keeps the contestants (as well as the viewers) on the edge of their seats. It's a great game show that anybody can get into. Heck, you might even scream at your TV a couple of times. Trust me, you'll love it.
