Run Ronnie Run Audience Reviews

AniInterview Sorry, this movie sucks
FeistyUpper If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
Kien Navarro Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
RG I never watched the show and I am from the south - so yes, I can relate to a lot of the stuff they are making fun of.This is one of my favorite comedy movies ever. From the start to finish everything ties in perfectly together. To me it's more like Airplane in style (a goofy plot with tons of hilarious filler). If you like Indi films, or at least "not so mainstream" films that you have to use your mind a little to catch everything then you will like this film.I only rent films but have ended up renting this one 4 times now to show different friends. Might not be the best sober movie, but a few drinks or so will have you ready for the adventure.
forkewe This is definitely a funny movie to see if you are from the south. Most people who don't like this movie probably can't relate to it due to cultural differences.Being from Georgia, I see it not so much as spoof on reality shows, but a take on southern culture. Each of the characters in the early parts of the film remind me of people I knew when I was growing up.I also highly suggest taking a "smoke" break before you watch.I find it odd that most seem to prefer Mr. Show, while I think this movie is far funnier.I've also noticed people comparing this movie to "Joe Dirt".While I think "Joe Dirt" is a funnier movie, I don't think it's a fair comparison. If you want to see what being "white trash" is really about "Run Ronnie Run" is a much more accurate portrayal. That coming from someone who grew up in a trailer park in Georgia.
pentagore I originally saw the uncut version through a bootleg some months before this was released. Having been a longtime Mr. Show fan, I was ultimately pleased to see they had done something with the character of Ronnie Dobbs. So many white trash characters have been portrayed on film and TV, but none of them have really hit true to home than Ronnie Dobbs. I have known MANY Ronnie Dobbs in my lifetime, having spent many years in Texas and Oklahoma. It was almost like watching a documentary.'Run, Ronnie, Run' is tremendously under-rated, and I suggest to all you comedy buffs to view this film. Those with an understanding of this kind of comedy will appreciate it even more.
bladednebula As far as many are concerned, this is just another stupid fart joke comedy. Well I disagree. Although the humour may not be tasteful, it is still very funny. A lot of the humour seems to be very reminiscent of South Park, almost a hats off to the works of Trey Parker and Matt Stone (whom also make a cameo appearance). Run Ronnie Run does repeat itself however, and a lot of the time you feel "This is the same joke but to a more extreme degree". This is definitely worth watching, and as I got it for £2 on DVD (Ex-rental... it's the only way) you can't complain. Lend it off a friend though, I wouldn't really class it as something you could watch again and again. If you like this film I suggest you check out earlier Parker and Stone productions, namely Cannibal The Musical.
