After his parents decide to move to a retirement home in Florida, professional gamer Quincy “Q” Johnson (Jerry Trainor) must find a way to raise 175,000 dollars to buy his family home. After hearing about a tournament for the game “Black Hole” with a grand prize of 175,500 dollars, Quincy enters the tournament, only to be faced with a new challenge. An equally skilled gamer, named Chris Saunders “Prodigy” (Jeanette McCurdy), has become the one block in Quincy’s plan, defeating him at every turn. Quincy then teams-up with his friend Wendell (Amir Talai), to try and find ways to stop Chris from entering the tournament.

Marketic It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
WillSushyMedia This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
Adeel Hail Unshakable, witty and deeply felt, the film will be paying emotional dividends for a long, long time.
silentsyren I have grown up watching Jenette and Jerry. I have seen them in many other TV shows and movies. Seeing them in this is like a childhood refresher and makes me want to re-watch some of the other things they have starred in.I really enjoyed this movie, not because it has one of the two most well known actors in it, but because it was really funny and really well played out. It is a really great watch. I miss watching this on TV. I will just have to try to catch it when I can.
a-11737 I like video games and I thought this movie was okay. The plot is... pretty good compared to other films and TV shows about video games. Think about Level Up from CN. I enjoyed the film pilot, but the show was dumb. Here, the characters are more relatible. And other characters tell you that "you shouldn't waste your life on playing video games." And that's gonna be a good message for the kids.
Atomic_Peace I go way back watching these two actors, it's really hard to say who is funnier, Trainer comes off as more energetic, as McCurdy stands to be a more psychically, and more wittier! The story is actually pretty relatable, a guy in his 20's on a video gaming universe is beat by a kid half his age, admit it, we've all been there! As a huge tournament begins to emerge for the game, they both plan to sabotage each other's status, at any means necessary.I enjoyed the flick, I'm a big video game nerd, and I feel them! It's a fun time! Even if you're not even really a huge game nerd, you can laugh at it!
Rebecca My husband and I watch Nickelodeon when we've got no attention span what-so-ever. So when we heard that Jennette McCurdy and Jerry Trainor were going to be in a movie together, we decided to check it out.Best Player has all the fun that any Nick show and movie has had in the past. I can't say it's a box-office smash, but it's got something for everyone. Jerry plays a lovable game freak who is still living with his parents. Jennette plays a spunky teenage girl who's having a hard time fitting in.This movie is full of physical comedy, one liners, and surprise twists. The producers tastefully used music from Big Time Rush, another Nickelodeon sponsored group. In the end, Best Player is a feel good, fun for all movie that I could certainly watch again and enjoy.
