Crocodile Love Story Audience Reviews

Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
VeteranLight I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Dhanya Kiran (Praveen Prem),a happy-go-lucky soul, working in a hardware company, and Nithya (Avanthika Mohan), a software professional were childhood friends. She is the only daughter of her parents and her parents (especially her father(Ashokan)) do not approve of the match. To avoid meeting the boy (Manikuttan) who came with a marriage proposal through her parents, Nithya asks Kiran to take her to a "far away" place where her father won't follow. They end up in an isolated island which seems "romantic" but they are surprised by a crocodile. The efforts to rescue them forms the rest of the story. The story is a fine one but is executed poorly. The first half is colorful but the chemistry between the main characters become lost now and then. Praveen Prem gives a fine performance but Avanthika's performance is not up-to the mark. Manikuttan's character is Sreeraj, a Malayalee cricketer chosen to the Indian Cricket Team. His performance and mannerism is similar to a cricketer we are all familiar with. So we can view this movie more of as a satire. The reference to food poisoning from restaurants (shawarma), the current trend of live streaming almost everything, confused and ill-equipped officials and corruption cements this point. Ashokan, Prem Kumar (police officer) and Kalabhavan Mani (a sharp shooter enlisted with the task of shooting the crocodile)gives a good performance. There is also a scene where Mani confesses that he signed up for this to get a chance to appear on live TV. SO basically this movie is a satire. The movie seems to have only a single song -"Aaro aaro ennariyathe". It is a very beautiful melody and gives the movie a lively feeling but it gets drowned once they enter into the island. The plot, dialogues, everything appears lifeless from that point. But the beauty of the remote island is captured beautifully well. The movie can be watched with family but don't expect much from this movie. Watch it, laugh and once its over you don't think much of it.
Tejas Nair With a bizarre title, Malayalam film industry sweeps into something they like to call new-wave. Only, this time it is old-wave.The story is clichéd: a rom-com where a fat guy courts a 10-pointer sexy chick to fall in love with her. Her parents hate the guy & so they plan a trip to get away from the state, only to get stranded in an island infested by a crocodile. The humor is ample in the fist half, but then the crocodile enters and spoils the broth. What was hatching as a good entertainer turned out to be a boring parade of tomfoolery. Characters like the one who depicted cricketer Sreesanth gave me a run for the money and the lead couple are fine, as well. Ashokan does his part well. With the addition of social topics of sand mafia and the shawarma case, CLS stands out.BOTTOM LINE: First half is a fine watch, while second half drops the base. Faintly recommended & watchable. Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YESViolence/Gore: Mild | Sex/Alcohol/Smoking/Nudity: No
