Graffiti Bridge Audience Reviews

SpuffyWeb Sadly Over-hyped
Micitype Pretty Good
Animenter There are women in the film, but none has anything you could call a personality.
Izzy Adkins The movie is surprisingly subdued in its pacing, its characterizations, and its go-for-broke sensibilities.
fayesbridegroom "graffiti bridge" follows on from "purple rain" prince's movie debut. It is quite a cult film and will only appeal to a limited audience. Visually it is very pleasant to the eye with more delicate choreography than in "purple rain" and musically its a real treat with a sound embraced in the technology of that era, but still lavished with prince's unique musical style. this movie expands on prince's spiritual ethos and retains a quirky mix of childlike innocence and adult sexuality. This movie is quite visionary for musicians as it offers some insight into the need for spiritual direction in music, as in all art. i enjoyed the movie and if you enjoyed movies such as "purple rain" or "interstella 5555" then i think you would probably enjoy this one.
cliffordx2000 Graffitti Bridge is a ghastly film. Too much style. In fact the film is all style and absolutely no substance. The "plot" seems to have been thrown in at the last minute. Ingrid Chavez and her acting is a site to behold. Her lines are read as if she memorized them and has no idea what she is saying. The relationship between Morris Day and Jerome is SOO homo-erotic, and then when they 'accidentally' touch each other in the dark and are repulsed to the point of vomiting is truly a homophobe highpoint....AND YET the songs "A Question Of You" and "Joy In Repetition" are amazing gems lost in the crud. Prince spends the entire film looking like Courtney Cox with a beard. A weird dud.
WilliPatton There is a a part of this movie where George Clinton is performing, and the back up singers are singing "Ruff... Meow." It is the most brilliant and hilarious thing I've ever heard. Unfortunately it's not on the soundtrack. If anyone can give me information on how to find this song, I will do something special for them. This movie is worth seeing solely for the part mentioned above, but also when Prince's strange muse transforms herself to go out with Morris Day. She really cleans up. Plus, Teving Campbell's performance is classic, and Morris Day is always entertaining. I recommend this movie for anyone who has said they love Purple Rain, but hate Rasberry Beret.
john galenec Thanks again Prince. still a timeless classic. still would stand all time. sexy cast and if you look closely there us comedy as well. Ingrid Chavez is strange, but yet, you can't look away from her. i'm spellbound! Great opening, great ending, and great songs in between also. Loved all the songs, and loved all the love/hate and good vs. evil. (so to speak). Soundtrack CD is ok, but even better in the movie since it's a great visual to "see" the songs come to life. and it's not just another "video montage" they all have a place in the story. I dare you to find another movie (besides purple rain) that has as many "hits" in it as well as a great supporting cast (morris day and others).
