Hum Tum Audience Reviews

Blucher One of the worst movies I've ever seen
Acensbart Excellent but underrated film
Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
Freeman This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
MartinHafer Karan (Saif Ali Khan) is traveling to America. On the way, he sits next to a pretty lady, Rhea (Rani Mukerji) and incessantly pushes her to pay attention to him. And, during their stopover in Amsterdam, he convinces her (I have no idea how) to explore the town with him*. Several months later, they meet up in New York City and it does not go well. Three years later, they meet...at her wedding. Now this certainly SEEMS as if it's the end for this potential couple, right? Karan is a man-child. Although chronologically an adult, he still needs to grow up. His attitude towards women is abominable and additionally he's rude, kind of creepy and is stuck on himself. How can filmmakers possibly take such a thoroughly unlikable guy and put him in a romantic comedy?! While it's obvious some could accept his boorish behaviors, as the film has a respectable score of 7.1, it completely ruined the movie for me. I hated his character and just wanted to see him hit by a bus! As for Rhea she seemed smart through most of the movie and wasn't the least bit dazzled by this shallow jerk. So why, then, have this seemingly smart girl eventually fall for him?! Sure, it took years...but why other than the fact that this is the formula for a rom-com . What is not formula is making the couple so different and the guy so unlikable that you don't even care what happens by the end of the film.Aside from the cute animated sequences, there just isn't anything to recommend this film. With thousands of better Indian films out there, I suggest you try something else.
user-27142 Well although most people complained about an 'inspired' plot, I don't care about that too much as long as the making is good (but I think they should give proper credits to those from whom they are 'inspired'). And I would give 9 out of 10 to the director on that. It is probably my most favorite romantic Hindi movie after DDLJ. As usual Rani did a good job. But Saif was fantastic! His portraying of Karan Kapoor was so perfect that I don't think any other Bollywood actor would fit in this role. The transition of relationship between the two protagonists was so smooth and well executed that you won't feel anything over imposed. The songs were great, specially the title track and Chak De. Overall I would give 8 on 10 to this movie.
prafulkumarkashyap i think this the movie that gave saif enough stardom to continue as a solo hero. when he started his second career with dil chatha hai i never thought he would find a film like this. the story line is cute and interesting. the lead actors meet several times in several phases of their lifes but never feel any of those love at first sight crap. the film looks mature.however i felt that the basic story line came from meg ryan's smashing hit "when harry met sally". saif performs well and this film gives proof that he possess a fantastic timing for comic scenes. his role looks like a funny boy next door.rani however is brilliant. she portrays comedy and emotion effectively. the scene in which both of them start acting as couple in a first meeting before marriage and slowly get involved and then suddenly realize it was simply amazing. that really made me feel romantic. watch it for clean and heart touching comedy.
husnain ali Hum tum is a good and funny film. At first it is good but then it changes, it goes all depressing and serious near the end. Hum tum shows about a boy (Saif Ali Khan) who is in love with a married women (Rani Mukherji). When rani's husband dies she starts liking Saif Ali Khan and at the ending they get together. I liked Hum tum but thought the acting could just improve a little. Kiron Kher did nice acting as a mother and it was great to see Rushi Kapoor in a fathers role. I like Rushi Kapoor's old films such as, Coolie,Naseeb, Amar, AKBAR, Anthony and a lot of others. It was a passioned film and me and my friends and most of my family like the film.
