Talaash Audience Reviews

Listonixio Fresh and Exciting
Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
Bumpy Chip It’s not bad or unwatchable but despite the amplitude of the spectacle, the end result is underwhelming.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
Mayank Vasandani I have never seen a slower movie than this. Initially the viewer thinks that the movie would be at a good pace and will move in the flow. But as the mystery gets deeper the film get slower. Most of the time you can actually predict what is gonna happen next. But I think it was a 131 minutes of drag. For actors, Amir Khan plays a very convincing Inspector. While he cant convince us with his dedication to the role, but he portrayed it nicely. Rani Mukherjee looked like a very unprepared and loose act. At same time, Kareena's acting is so bad that you might want to turn while she acts. I wont recommend this movie to anyone.
amanq A brilliant movie and best one from Bollywood in 2012. Aamir khan has rightly said that it is not suspense thriller, but a suspense drama. Some people have complained about slow pace, but I never, for a min, found myself bored during the movie. It was interesting and engrossing throughout. Twist was not really mind-blowing (and that is why i am not giving it 10 on 10), but nonetheless was still good enough for me and when you see the movie again, you will find that this only could be the best logical ending and hints were given throughout the movie. I liked it more than "Kahaani". And i really loved the song "jee le zara" - enigmatic and apt for the movie.I think this movie is highly underrated, largely because it is a dark and serious movie with no scope for any comedy. Has been and will be liked by quality cinema lovers, and may be headache for people who watch just comedies and action and have reached the same level of intellect.
Girish Gowda While investigating the mysterious death of a filmstar, a cop meets a sex-worker in the seedy underbelly of Mumbai. He also faces his own personal problems. The unraveling of the mystery ultimately changes his life.Talaash (which means 'Search') is a dark, complex, psychological suspense/thriller drama. It explores a phase of life when everything seems lost and the world at large seems like its doing everything to hurt you. There are many layers to Talaash; from the life of sex-workers to a medium to a grieving family amidst other things. Its more of a character study than an all out thriller and is quite a slow burner. The level of attention to detail is commendable and it all fits almost perfectly in the end. The sombre mood created by the music is great. There are plenty of people trying to 'find out' what Hollywood movie this movie has been ripped off of. Guess what? Most of the so-called 'original' Hollywood movies are rip-off's of Korean and Japanese movies. Perspective matters. And inspiration is another beast entirely. Criticizing just for the sake of criticizing is dumb. This is an original movie. All that shouldn't even matter much if the movie does what its supposed to - Entertain. Indian cinema has a rich legacy of so many amazing, brilliant, poignant movies. Bollywood isn't the be all and end all for Indian films. If you know how Indian cinema and its movie stars work, you would realize that its quite a low-key affair for someone of Aamir Khan's stature. Yet again he proves that quality is more important to him than success. He's brilliant as the tortured, vulnerable, yet trying be stoic, father trying to come to terms with the death his child while still staying true to his moral codes as an officer of the law. Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Tehmur is a revelation. Kareena Kappor and Rani Mukherji do complete justice to their roles. The movie does have its share of imperfections and lags in the middle at times. It could have been shortened by about 10 minutes. The ending is one of those endings that you either love and connect even more to the character or you hate. Either way, if one paid attention, they could see it coming. A solid psychological, suspense drama8/10
Shashi Nandivada As an Aamir Khan fan, I had to watch this movie!! And he did not disappoint as always.Story is good and believable, yes of course, the ending may not be acceptable, but you know, nothing is impossible!!!The characters, all of them have a role and that's a commendable part of the story!!!And yes, Kareena, she is the Queen of the movie...there could not be a Talaash without her!!!She is absolutely amazing in the movie, loved her totally, her style, her dialogue delivery, absolutely everything...Music is also very good, it stays with you for a long time after having watched the movie.Overall, a great watch!!
