Old Fashioned Audience Reviews

InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Taha Avalos The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
Kayden This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
victoireconstance We watch this film as a couple and watched it again with 3 of our younger children. The values connected to this film and the balance between what is good and not good is profound as it helped younger to understand how to get away from the easy choices and make valuable ones for themselves and others. The good thruth tha is inside us is often neglected in the name of friendship.
cog-53870 I watched Old Fashioned because I liked the title, expecting romance, comedy, and a happy ending. It was much more than that. I was amazed at how well made, honest, and uplifting it was. So, I recommended it to my grown daughter and she loved it, especially that it showed how good a relationship can be, even helping a couple to lose "baggage" from previous relationships. I have lost count of how many people I have recommended it to. It's a classic and a keeper.
Suzane Avadiar It's not very often that we find a story that is full of charm and romance, while still remaining passionately chaste. It's a rather Old Fashioned notion to expect that from a film in this day and age but Rik Swartzwelder managed it quite confidently. The ideals and beliefs in this film may not be for everyone, in fact, many would choose to scoff it off. But I found OF to be raw and real enough to make us pause and ponder on its possibilities. The pace of the movie is a quiet stroll, with just the right measure of melodies and sceneries to accompany us. The landscape is breathtaking and cinematography, beautifully captured! There were brief instances where a scene or two seemed a tad contrived but not enough to impose on the overall flow of the film. The main characters are both credible and charming together. They easily convince you to invest in them and leave you curious about what their future holds. To me, that in itself says the movie accomplished its purpose. It persuaded me to take a slice of the story and characters back with me and left me feeling hopeful that it is possible to hold out for these Old Fashioned ideas. A delightful film!
lawofthelord This is a wonderful movie and it really puts the reality of how bad dating is in the day. You see people over and over dating breaking up dating breaking doing the same thing over and over and they can't figure out why nothing works that something is wrong with the other person which in fact there is something wrong with their moral definition of dating by respecting the other person by learning about them at a personal level rather going for selfish act of fornication to get what they want. So to really care about someone you want to protect them and their emotions. If you are in a physical relationship you won't see that person for who they are because you are blinded by the lust of the flesh so you won't see that person for who they really are and get married and when you are married that lust fades and you start seeing that person who they really and that relationship may not last or they might endure. So watching Old Fashioned was very eye opening for me.The million dollar question: Will you go to Heaven or hell when you die? Here's a quick test. Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything or used God's name in vain? Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Have you looked with lust? Have you ever hated someone? Jesus said if you hate someone you are considered a murderer at heart. Will you be guilty on Judgment Day? If you have done those things, God sees you as a lying, murderer at heart, and thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. The Bible warns that if you are guilty you will end up in Hell. That's not God's will. He sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross for you. You broke God's Law, but Jesus paid your fine. That means He can legally dismiss your case. He can commute your death sentence: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Then Jesus rose from the dead and defeated death. Then read your Bible daily and obey it. It's up to you to decide no one can stand in your place on judgment day not your preacher or the pope. Your good works, praying, being a good person or going to church will not save you only Jesus can. Please, repent (turn from sin) today and trust in Jesus alone, and God will grant you the gift of everlasting life.
