Overdrawn at the Memory Bank Audience Reviews

Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Matylda Swan It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
Logan By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
crystalart I know I've said it before, but this is another of my MFF (Most Favorite Films!) For years I've tried to find a DVD copy of it, but none has ever been available. It's the first film in which I saw Raul Julia and Maury Chaykin, and I've collected their films ever since. It's also my first viewing of Gary Farmer, who later appeared in "Ed and His Dead Mother". "Overdrawn" is quite psychedelic. The "Casablanca" sequences are very well done.Good luck on finding a copy of this one.I'm glad I have one.
jimy23 WOW I don't understand this movie at all it's impossible to completely follow. All I know is that the movie takes place in a future were TV is outlawed and Raul Julia plays Aram Fingal who broke the law by watching Casablanca It also has virtual reality simulation that seems to have replaced TV. Aram Fingal gets transported into Casablanca and becomes Rick Blaine the bad guy is also in the movie pursuing Fingal there is even a Peter Lorre charter. The rest of the movie is just bad low budget special effects dancing and there a little kid who switches tags that causes problems I just don't get this movie or way Raul Julia is in it? Did i mention the stock footage from animals are beautiful people.
Bart_Mancuso The story if you look at it from a broader perspective really isn't that bad. But when you put it under a microscope it meets every definition of the word absurd. They plug a guy into the matrix, er I mean the HX-368 or whatever and has to live his life as a freedom fighter named Neo, err I mean a monkey named Daisy. Then he has to help an oppressed culture called the Na'vi who are a peaceful and primitive people, I mean... he gets stuck inside an interactive simulation called the Matrix...what? Actually what I am trying to say is that Overdrawn at the memory bank on its surface is really not all that retarded when you look at it when compared to stories like the Matrix and Avatar. It's just that Overdrawn at the memory bank's writers decided to not clue us in on anything to have the story make any sense! Why is Fingal going to die if he doesn't get out of the Matrix--I mean the HX-368! How exactly does Fingal manage to interface the computer by reversing the access code!? What does this all mean? Why should we care? These answers unfortunately are not ever answered. The writers wanted to portray a 1984-esque future without any explanation for anything that's going on, and that makes the story pretty lame... just like Avatar. Oh, and for some reason in the future everyone hates anteaters.
billy_witch_doctor619 I loved Overdrawn at the Memory Bank simply because MST3000 did a wonderful job bashing the movie. Fingal (Raul Julia) is some Casablanca junkie who gets "doppled" into a body of a monkey for compulsory prophylactic rehab when his body becomes tampered with by a demonic child, sending him for a sex change operation instead! This somehow causes an energy surge in which Fingal stops dabbling in dopples and becomes trapped into the supercomputer HX368. He then uses his wit and cunning to make it through his self-perpetuated reenactment of Casablanca and to become interfaced with the HX368. All the while the computer which holds Fingals' memories and conscious are on the verge of being obliterated by the short shelf life of doppling cubes. I don't recommend buying this movie unless of course it is Volume 4 of MST3000 DVD set. I liked it for it's humor and weird filming effects. The whole movie is filmed like a dream sequence, with a slight haze around the lenses of the cameras.
