Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Beanbioca As Good As It Gets
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Kimball Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
debmetzger As a student of American history and a great admirer of Ronald Reagan, I truly appreciate the research, accuracy, and care taken in the making of this documentary. I have a copy of the historical biography used in making this film and I can find no major discrepancies in the written work and the film adaptation.Anyone with an interest in American history, a general interest in U.S. Presidents and the Presidency, or specifically the Presidency of Ronald Reagan will find this film informative and enlightening. It is a "must see".I applaud the film makers for the due diligence, however, I have one pressing question. Where in the world can I purchase a DVD of this film to add to my personal library? I have looked in all the usual places and websites and have had no luck. Any information on this "extremely urgent" question is greatly appreciated.
hasnoform ...from so many quarters round the whole world especially in the UK and the USA. Fascinating insight into the process a team of doctors will often go through when addressing how to try to save a human being in a trauma. The leading 'protagonist', namely Ben Aaron the surgeon who performed the operation, comes across a such a thoroughly warm and kind human being. Very powerful CGI work and good, natural performances from the cast which is essential in this medium. Exceptionally well-documented and researched. The way the Operating-room scenes are inter-cut with those in the White House and at the news conferences is particularly good.
jhaynie This is possibly the most fascinating documentary I have ever seen. The film covers the time period from about 40 minutes before Hinckley shoots Reagan until he recovers from his wounds and leaves the hospital. The interviews are fantastic and include firsthand accounts from Secret Service agents, administration officials who were at both the hospital and the White House, Reagan's family, and the RN's and MD's who worked on the President. Also included are replays of the highly erroneous news reports that came out during the day. The film does a really fantastic job of reenacting key moments to provide an excellent sense of what it was like behind the curtain. It's worth watching!
