Singham Audience Reviews

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
Raetsonwe Redundant and unnecessary.
AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
amusulwa For any person who loves a nice action movie, then you should watch Singham. Follow the non-stop action from the village to the city of Goa as Ajay Devgn delivers a monstrous performance against Prakash Raj. Well directed, with a good, easy to follow story line, Singham provides an all- in-one family entertainment. One striking element in this film is how good the action sequences have been filmed. Prakash Raj is a great actor. See how effortlessly he takes his lines and how easy it is to laugh at his conversations.Well, the music isn't so great but still, blends well with the story and the rest of the film. Great film!
DjfunkmasterG Yes, Bollywood has copycat syndrome, and extremely over the top moments, but what they do is make it work to be entertaining, not roll your eyes momentsFrom start to finish I was entertained and found the action scenes to be well paced, entertaining and made me feel Singham is the bollywood Norris, Chan, Willis and Schwarzenegger rolled into one.Couldn't understand a single word, but there was never a moment I was looking at my watch or wondering when it would end.American action films that go over the top don't do it properly, they need to study bollywood films like SINGHAM and make it work.I extremely recommend it.
Chrysanthepop I wasn't aware that Rohit Shetty directed 'Singham'. Otherwise I would have avoided this. The only reason why I decided to watch this was because I had scene it in a top ten best film list (where it was listed alongside gems like 'I Am', 'Stanley ka Dabba' and son) and read that it was a homage to those B-movie-type films. Anyway, after watching it I'm still wondering where the homage was? It's pretty much just another remake of those horrible 90's action flicks. The only difference is that it's a tad more 'stylized'. I mean the dishum dishum action sequences (yes, there are plenty of those) are a combination of slow-motion and fast-forward. The story has nothing new to offer. It's the typical one man versus numerous goons. Ajay Devgan has had more than a decade's practise of playing the 'good cop' so he plays it to the formula. However, the scene stealer is Prakash Raj. With his natural flair for comedy, he is hilarious as the over-the-top villain. Anyway, there isn't much else to say really. 'Singham' disappoints but Prakash Raj tickles.
himanish-kar1 NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE THE DAY.....Ajay Devgan on an personal ego trip...a.l.a Salman Khan...which is exactly what SINGHAM evolves into....i mean....even without the shades n whiskers, this movie feels EXACTLY like the Box-Office hit 'Dabangg' starring Salman Khan....as Ajay Devgan rampages on, on a personal vendetta against another Cheddi Singh photocopy, albeit a darker, classier, fatter and funnier one (Prakash Raj just got promoted...to my list of favorite villains in Bollywood today..!) :P, forgetting that he has a different fan- base...from the one that Salman has....which is just happy for him to show off his physique.... N now, a little bit about the lead actress, Kajal Aggarwal, no ravishing beauty but strangely very attractive (almost reminds one of Tanushree Dutta, strictly on looks of course) reasonably good debut..but wrong choice of movie for a debut...as in SINGHAM is ALL, n i really mean ALL, about Bajirao Singham (dats the character Mr.Devgan plays)....:P BOTTOMLINE - Barring a couple of bloopers (such as killing someone with a 9mm Beretta, and planting a S&W .38 at the crime scene)IF you're looking for your money's worth...then go for it...its gritty, has a kind of mass appeal, has good dialogs (spoken most enthusiastically by Mr. Devgan) but most importantly...there's never an idle moment...THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE MOVIE....(hope u don't expect expletives / scanty attires to be within scope of 'ur money's worth', cos SINGHAM is selectively devoid of both)...!
