Slaughter High Audience Reviews

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
Fatma Suarez The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Jakoba True to its essence, the characters remain on the same line and manage to entertain the viewer, each highlighting their own distinctive qualities or touches.
videorama-759-859391 I guess one of the standout attractions to this shoddy horror is English movie goddess, Caroline Munro. Horrors like this were more admired or fun in their time. The acting in this film was very bad, save for Marty (this one film actor and humanitarian, suiciding just after), the coach, and the loud bully, passable, who sabotaged a chemical experiment, which went horribly wrong for it's creator/geek, Marty. Before this, a real low down (stereotypical) prank was pulled on Marty, in the girl's locker room, where he was coaxed into a sexual liason with Munro, before being photographed naked, then having his head shoved down a toilet. Personally these were the most heartless bullies/jocks/cheerleaders, I've ever seen and couldn't wait for their demises, as years later, they receive a secret invitation by (guess who) to a high school reunion. Here, Marty, disguised in a leprechaun mask, kills them off, some in uniquely clever ways, the first victim, dying a shocking death, in front of his peers. I felt no mercy for these dickhead victims at all, as they all got what they deserve, where now in the 21s't millennium, bullying as got worse. If you can remember the bullies blamed Marty when getting caught, during the locker room/sex prank, which for them was ground to teach Marty a lesson, with that backfiring chemistry explosion, which saw Marty, disfigured. What are you serious? They should of not of pulled that prior locker room prank, in the first place. SH is a crummy, awfully shot and acted film, some exterior shots of total blackness, where we lose the actors, briefly. I did like how one scene you thought was real, which cut to years later, with Munro having a bad dream. It's really sickening how people can just move on, from their dastardly deeds, with no conscience, though bad actions sometimes have fatal consequences. What really sucked was the way the film ended, as if it was all premeditated by the bandaged Marty, burning with fury. A stupid ending for a number of reasons. I really wanted Marty's revenge to be real.
utgard14 Routine '80s slasher about a group of people gathering for a high school reunion and being killed off one by one. This is one of many slashers with the same premise: nerdy outcast is bullied and usually disfigured by assholes but comes back years later for revenge. The only "star" in the movie is Caroline Munro. She was 36 at the time, which makes her playing a teenager in early scenes a hoot. The production's pretty cheap but I do enjoy the location shooting, one of the primary selling points of '70s & '80s slasher films. The score is by Harry Manfredini of Friday the 13th fame. He reuses some of that memorable score here. But the best part of his new score is this Sanford & Son-ish bit of music that seems more at home in a comedy than a horror movie. It gives the movie an extra bit of quirkiness that I liked. There's also a comically bad heavy metal theme song. It's not a terrible movie of its type but very predictable. It helps that it doesn't take itself seriously.
Aaron1375 Watched this film on a collection with some other horror movies. Not like the collections where you get 50 public domain horror films, the ones on here are a bit more mainstream. They are not all that great mind you...just more mainstream. This one is the second film I have viewed in this collection. Last year I watched "The Unholy" which is also on this collection. Yes, I said last year...I am very behind on my movies and video games at the moment thanks to a stint on third shift at work. Well this one had some good kills, but unfortunately, it makes a whole lot of mistakes and these mistakes doom this film to being just another bad, but tolerable to watch horror film. Happens all the time, I think I am going to watch a horror film that is going to be pretty good, but then it goes in a wrong direction or something. The story starts with a bunch of high school kids pulling a very cruel series of pranks on a nerdy guy. Of course, this was par for the course in those days, as there was not a multitude of anti-bullying movements back then. Things were a lot rougher, but these days bullying consists of calling a pretty girl various names and thus it generates more outrage. Basically, popular kids could dish it out, but these days are proving they cannot take a much weaker bullying. Back on topic, well the nerd gets scarred and we flash years later where the obnoxious friends are going to their class reunion where they find a deserted school and no other students other than themselves (all the ones in on the prank). Soon, someone is stalking them...could it be Marty, the kid they not only humiliated, but also disfigured? Yes...basically the most obvious killer ever. The film tries to be funny, but for the most part the comedy did not really work for me. With about 15 or 20 minutes left in this one they seemed to ditch any attempts at comedy...they also didn't seem to know how to end their film. The only saving grace of this one are a few good kills. About 40 minutes into this one I was wondering if there were going to be any kills as no one had died yet, but finally the kills come fast and furious. To fast and furious as we are left with one girl all too quickly considering we were 40 minutes in before we had kill number one! The highlights both involve acid and both are nasty. A pretty good lawnmower death too, but it could have been messier. The film has enough in it to prevent a person from being bored. It is entertaining in a way, just tried to be too clever in parts and not clever enough in other parts. A nice couple of kills just cannot save this one as Marty roams the halls of his old high school to get his revenge as they just do not seem to know how to end a horror film from a certain point in time up till now. The best ending to a horror film I think I have seen is in Vincent Price's, "House On Haunted Hill". It ended in a satisfactory way, it did not try to confuse a person or say, "It was all a dream." Which to me is more like, "Screw you...this is the only thing we could come up with."
FlashCallahan A group of popular students play a cruel prank on a shy nerd resulting in a terrible accident. Years later a reunion is held where each of the students face a stalker killer who may be the same nerd out for revenge...The thing about this movie is that it comes as no surprise who the killer is right from the moment we see him with his glasses on.When he is revealed, there is one kid wearing a jester mask for no reason, I wonder what he will wear at the reunion? After the accident, we cut forward to an abandoned place where these guys have been invited,a dn lots of their trinkets have been found. It's a mixed bag of kids, one is 35 and one now resides on Emmerdale. It's a fun movie though, quite gory for a movie like this, and what makes the movie more macabre is the fact that the actor who played Marty, Simon Scuddamore, took his own life soon after completing this.Acting is okay, and although the ending is bizarre (it reminded me of Thriller) it's a welcome entry into the stalk and slash genre.Hopefully this won't be remade...
