I loved this film, i saw it years ago by chance on telly, then again on dvd now, i still like it a lot, its unpredictable, shows a world most people don't know about.It funny in places,there is drama,its filmed form a french perspective , based in london. This gives it something extra, and despite the trailer its not about sex or escorts, its about people and relationships, life and the mess we can create in it. so if you want to see lots of wild sex, this film isnt for you, but if you like drama , then it might do

Until the very end, this movie kept me on my toes.
Michel Blanc's style here was fast paced, which makes it easy to watch.Indeed, since it is somewhat of a romance movie you would think that men might not be interested but the suspense makes you hold your breath. Every scene could turn good or bad until the very end.Daniel Auteuil is great and his supporting cast just as good.The reason for me not rating it higher is because I wish I had learned more about the gigolo lifestyle through this movie...to add another layer would make this movie worth seeing multiple times. Don't get me wrong, I may watch it again...but i dont feel the need to.Nevertheless, a good movie.

I watched this film for the second time recently having seen it a couple of years ago. It is interesting if a bit dark and depressing at times. It is the story of Pierre (Daniel Autiel) a middle aged man who feels that after 20 years of marriage his life does not amount to much and he wants more excitement and a change. He decides to stay in London and start writing a book, one evening he is conned and assaulted and by chance meets Tom (Stuart Townsend) an Irish guy who works in a café by day and as a Male escort by night. He helps out Pierre and introduces him to his world which at first seems exciting, he gets a new apartment in the Docklands, a girlfriend who although she starts out in a similar line of work, wants to change for Pierre. At this point his life takes a downward spiral as he tries to get more and more work to pay for his more expensive life and gets into drugs to help him keep going for his clients and girlfriend. Pierre eventually becomes as his friend puts it "a real arsehole" and falls out with his friend Tom, he then resorts to promising a client that he loves her, but she should still pay as he is in need. In reality he has no feelings for her and just wants the money, which later leads to an encounter with her Husband. He is later informed that his Father is ill and has to rush back to France while there he discovers that estranged wife now knows of his new line of work. After some serious thought, He decides to write a book and many months later drops by his old friend Tom's café to show him the book.This is a very well made film and quite realistically done. Personally after seeing it twice I would not watch it again but this is just my taste in films. I feel that you should give this film a chance and watch it, as it is a worthy drama and has a message if you look closely.

Daniel Auteil plays a French man, Pierre, who absconds from his family in Paris to the bright lights of London in order to write a book. One day he is beaten up in the street by the bouncer of a strip joint and Tom ,a young male escort, comes to his aid. The two become mates and Tom encourages Pierre to enter the world of male escorting.Not a bad film but not incredibly good either. However an interesting peek into a fictional world of male escorting in London where good money is to be made by sleeping with mostly attractive women. Does not sound bad maybe I should give it a go, if it is as well payed and glamorous as this film makes it out to be!The two central characters are pretty good and the film develops into a fine conclusion. My favorite scene is near the end when a devastated husband (played excellently by Peter Mullan) confronts Pierre for sleeping with his wife and charging her for the pleasure.This is worth a watch just don't expect too much from it.
