Old St. Leopold's Hospital has many urban legends surrounding it, but the residents of Bridgeport all agree on one thing: tortured souls roam its abandoned halls. The mystery proves too much for a pretty young student who decides to investigate for her senior class project. Unfortunately, she does not find ghosts. She, instead, finds Stanley... serial rapist, murderer, and psychopath. As the young girl becomes Stanley's new pet, a team of young investigators descend on the hospital to "hunt some ghosts." Stanley sees nothing but fun and games in his future. But, what Stanley does not know is that the hospital truly is haunted and the restless spirits there are not happy with what he has been doing.

The Hospital Audience Reviews

Console best movie i've ever seen.
BelSports This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
filippaberry84 I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Joanne Everett Somehow I managed to stick this movie out until 20 minutes before the end when I got so bored I had to switch it off. At first I thought it was an out and out parody because I couldn't believe that anyone would release a movie with such terrible acting in it. But no, the writer and director were serious and the budget was wasted on this abomination rather than going to a decent director who could have made something of a measly budget (it has been done before). To the reviewer that said they are a fan of this genre and then goes on to sing this pile of crap's praises, you must have watched some seriously dire horror films in your lifetime. And to all those who gave it more than a couple of stars, clearly your either getting paid to bump up the reviews you know someone in the film, or you're being ironic and the joke's on us (Ha ha). And I'll tell you what is a joke, this film.DO NOT BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME WATCHING THE HOSPITAL 2013. WATCH SOMETHING, ANYTHING, ELSE.
TdSmth5 Yes folks, this is a low budget independent horror. There are no anorexic Hollywood actors, no fancy CGI effects. And it is extreme horror, this isn't PG-13 stuff for teens. Some girls drive around when their car breaks down. Someone else arrives. Next thing we know, they are tortured and raped. And that's just the intro. A college girl travels to a town to investigate the rumors surrounding the local abandoned hospital. Everyone in town encourages her to leave and forget about it. She doesn't. You can guess what happens to her. Except that she isn't killed but kept alive by the bad guy.5 girls take a paranormal investigation tour sponsored by some sleazy paranormal investigator. He hands the girls over to 2 guys who'll do the tour. The tour will be several days at the hospital, where the groundskeeper is...the bad guy from the intros.Turns out the 2 guys aren't just interested in hooking up with the girls but they have much more sinister plans for them. And it gets very nasty, let's put it that way. Eventually cops get involved as well as the father of the college girl and her sister. But there are some more twists to the story. As a low budget movie, you should know to expect uneven acting, poor lighting, problems with sound, normal looking people, etc. But what I didn't expect was how extreme and graphic this movie would be. There lots of violence, gore, nudity, blood, and other bodily fluids. But they actually bothered to come up with a good story and script. Acting isn't all around terrible, several actors here do a good job. I'm going to give The Hospital high marks for the sheer guts to make a movie like this and for the cast for being committed to doing some pretty nasty stuff. You can't really review and rate a movie like this by Hollywood standards. Overall, a courageous attempt and if you know what you're getting yourself into, it's even enjoyable.
dagdave no sorry who ever gave this film higher than 1 should be taken to there works HR for tests as this is possibly the worst film ever, OK its very low budget but come on, give it 10 minutes have a giggle then move on, The movie shows gratuitous rape scenes to try to attract an audience outside those just looking for a decent indie horror, since there seems to be little else the film has to offer any other type of audience. My recommendation would be to stay far away from this one. with a budget of $100k, someone should have used that money for acting classes. Horror fans, run far away from this movie. The nudity will be the only thing that draws people into even watching this movie. Don't waste your time on The Hospital 2013.

But, what Stanley does not know is that the hospital truly is haunted and the restless spirits there are not happy with what he has been doing. On the surface, it appears as if the gang at Deviant Pictures has created an homage to the horror films of the 1980s... it's obvious these movies were their inspiration... but this film actually delves much deeper than that. The Hospital has a great story that keeps you engaged and actually contains two major twists that you'll never see coming! It also contains some of the grittiest scenes of torture ever to be committed to film. What makes these scenes of torture even more disturbing is the dark humor that runs beneath them. The writers, Jim O'Rear and Daniel Emery Taylor, are obviously toying with the audience... and it's very effective. Some of the visual effects by Tommy Golden are sub-par and cheesy, but this just adds to the campy, dark humor that's already built into the film and provides moments of guilty giggles. For an indie film, the performances from all of the actors are extremely solid. Many Hollywood actors could learn a lesson from watching some of these people go through their paces... especially Jim O'Rear, Daniel Emery Taylor, Jason Crowe, Alicia Clark, and Robyn Shute.Throw in a few great cameos from horror staples such as John Dugan, April Burill, and Scott Tepperman and you've got yourself one heck of a ride! Highly Recommended!!
