Info

Mr. Rhodes is an American television situation comedy which was aired by NBC as part of its 1996-97 lineup. Mr. Rhodes starred comedian Tom Rhodes as an eponymous character who taught at a small-town preparatory school after having failed as a novelist. He found that his high school fantasy girl, Nikki was on the staff as a guidance counselor, and began a relationship with her. Like the title character's writing career, Mr. Rhodes' appearance on network television was a brief one; the program was not picked up for another season and last broadcast in March 1997.

Mr. Rhodes Audience Reviews

Glucedee It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Murray_MLIS I really like Tom Rhodes and was looking forward to seeing him every week. Unfortunately, this was just a cookie-cutter "new teacher"/"fish out of water" show; chock full of clichés, stereotypes, and predictability. The pilot tried to use some of Tom's stand-up to connect with the students but it didn't quite work. Not even veteran Ron Glass and future star Jensen Ackles were able to help Tom get past the trite scripts. You can see the pilot episode on YouTube (though, Jensen is not in the pilot), posted in three parts by Tom Rhodes himself five years ago (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwYf9xe2Wos). This seems to be the only part of the series that's available (so far) since there seems to be no DVD available.September 2014
