Info

Mrs. Brown's Boys is a British-Irish award winning sitcom created by and starring writer and performer Brendan O'Carroll. The show is based on O'Carroll's stage plays about the character Agnes Browne, which were developed from books and straight-to-DVD films. The sitcom continues the stories of Agnes, now with the shortened surname "Brown", and her family who are played by real life close friends and family of O'Carroll's. After being slated by critics, the show has become a ratings success in both Ireland, where it is set, and the United Kingdom, where it is recorded. On 29 December 2012 the show began its third series. Mrs Brown's Boys is a co-production among BBC Scotland, BocPix and RTÉ.

Mrs Brown's Boys Audience Reviews

Jeanskynebu the audience applauded
Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Ava-Grace Willis Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
miltonmunster this is the most forced, overacted, overdone shyt ever had the misfortune to have to sit through while visiting friends & they raved about it.I nearly ground my teeth down several millimetres & even considered taking up smoking to just get away as toilet was in use, luckily made my phone ring.I mean each to their own but this was torture one could see the so called jokes coming miles away,so hokey even if you clockwork oranged me I couldn't watch it Id simply lose the will to live....must stop now bile rising
Felix Norman I think I know what this show is trying to achieve, being a zany, hyperactive sit-com, but it doesn't deliver. The way that MBB is formulated means that it is reliant on character. The problem is, there are TOO MANY characters, but none of them HAVE character. There are too many characters and sub-plots that prevent the viewer from becoming invested in any of the characters or what they're going through - to the point of confusion. Character arrives, does something for laughs, leaves, next character arrives. There is no driving force or development.Generally unfunny and unsatisfying
Pandorum_Sufferer I had to write a review after seeing an Australian comment how this rubbish has taken Australia by storm, well that must be your primary school that has been taken by storm because I know no-one that will admit to watching this dribble.I know comedy is subjective so to give you an idea of what I find funny my two favorite comedies are: Community and It's always sunny in Philadelphia. In summary this show is gets its jokes from the 60's, the cast cannot even pull off a joke without cracking and no that is it the show sucks. The purpose of this review other than saving people a miserable experience is to counter "anthanth's" insulting comment about Australian humour.
doubt_it I feel like I'm losing my mind... everyone seems to love this and I can't even begin to comprehend why. Now I love British comedy like the Mighty Boosh, Monty Python, Peter Cooke & Dudley Moore, IT Crowd, Facejacker, Brass Eye... the list goes on. This is just insulting: it's like a laugh track surgically stapled to some painfully unfunny situations. Most of the humor seems to hinge off the fact that the main character is a man dressed up as a woman. Imagine that! The absurdity!! What will they think of next?! I can imagine this would've been a hilarious concept back in 1950 but come on. And I don't have any problem with crude humor... if it's funny and has a purpose rather than just being there to facilitate a knee jerk awkward giggle response because the basic material isn't up to scratch, which is what we have here. Maybe the era of quality British comedy is over and my tastes haven't 'evolved' that far yet. Anyhoo, rant over, I'm going to rethink a few things.
