Roomies Audience Reviews

Stevecorp Don't listen to the negative reviews
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Forumrxes Yo, there's no way for me to review this film without saying, take your *insert ethnicity + "ass" here* to see this film, like now. You have to see it in order to know what you're really messing with.
Matho The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
Stebaer4 My but How I recall this Short Lived Series And even on the last night it played on May 15,1987 of which was my 24th Birthday I even Knew that it still might not survive to come back after that short lived as it was it gave those 2 movie stars The late Corey Haim as Matthew and Burt Young(of whom is most famous for his role as Paulie in The Rocky Movies) as Nick a chance to each get recognition outside of Movie Roles and Movie Stardom with a shot at TV roles and TV Stardom and how like 2 peas in a pod they'd get to find how they really went together? So that they even went on A Weekend Trip together to Nick's Mother's(she was played by Estelle Getty.)Yes Matthew was an outcast who didn't fit in because The College Classmates were older than him and Nick didn't fit in for a similar reason because he was too old for them. You'll also see how among other things Matthew get's taken advantage of but still thanked like in that very scene in which Matthew was asked for an answer by that guy who's cheat notes were washed off and then when he was given it but after being told then he said "Thanks and I still hate you!"Those singing choir boys in each episode also added a nice touch of color as did certain songs of which were played before the station brakes like In 1814 we took a little trip.Truthfully,Stephen "Steve" G. andy-1268 I remember this show running on NBC Saturday mornings around 1990. I was around 12-13 at that time, but knew Corey Haim was much older at that point, or at least seemed it. It was funny to me then that a clearly old show was being shown around Saved by the Bell and that type... Anyway, just a memory, i watched it, even though it was pretty odd, and "Pauly" from Rocky was the main reason I got a kick out of it. I remember the NBC promo's stating that they were the only place you could see "Roomies!", which was funny since the show was obviously old, and if it were to become a Saturday morning hit, wouldn't be able to film more episodes. A show that's stuck with me for awhile, i thought I may have dreamt it.
indy_ace This show got a bad rap and wasn't given a chance. Both my mother and I thought it was a very good show. Definitely a change of pace. We especially enjoyed the four guys who would wander through the background harmonizing to very appropriate tunes Aspell. They were very good. It dealt with situations that college students commonly deal with in a way that oft times is very humorous. TV execs are obviously looking at the demographics that have the least buying power instead the middle age adults with the most buying power, the Baby Boomers. I am sick an tired of the TV execs telling me what I like or what I'm going to watch. Kicking off a show after only a few weeks without giving a chance to adjust the writing or the character mix is totally irresponsible. I looked forward to seeing Roomies. Too bad people who only enjoy drama, sex and violence rule our airwaves.
bergeron70 Well... what is there to say. This was supposed to be an odd couple buddy comedy thing I think. You had Haim as this boy genius and some crusty old guy as a military sergeant who in his 50s I'm guessing decided he wanted more out of life. The result was supposed to be hilarity, it wasn't. First of all, having the two of them as room mates was... well... creepy for reasons I don't even want to get into. I actually have a couple episodes on tape still as I was a big fan of Haim at that time (gimmie a break, I was a teen)... they're packed away somewhere where I'm sure they won't be found soon. Maybe someday they'll be unearthed by a future civilization who will judge our society based on this turkey... oh GOD I'd better destroy that tape. If you get the chance to see it don't spend money, only reason I keep it around is because I taped it for free and as I said, I couldn't find it if I wanted to now.
