Info

The Ricky Gervais Show is an American cartoon series produced for and broadcast by HBO and Channel 4. The series is an animated version of the popular British audio podcasts and audiobooks of the same name, which feature Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, along with colleague and friend Karl Pilkington, talking about various subjects behind the microphone. The TV show consists of past audio recordings of these unscripted "pointless conversations," with animation drawn in a style similar to classic era Hanna-Barbera cartoons, presenting jokes and situations in a literal context. The animated Ricky Gervais Show has aired 39 episodes across three seasons since it premiered in 2010. There were some plans for a possible fourth season which would have used newly recorded audio, but this was shelved in June 2012. Series 3 of The Ricky Gervais Show premiered on 20 April 2012 on HBO, and on 8 May 2012 on E4.

The Ricky Gervais Show Audience Reviews

Limerculer A waste of 90 minutes of my life
FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Tymon Sutton The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
merelyaninnuendo The Ricky Gervais ShowJust like a normal Ricky Gervais show, it has thought provoking content with smart comedy and sometimes hardcore humor that may be inedible for some people but if one seeks concrete material and is open to eerie ideology and anatomy of well established theories and beliefs, one comes knocking at this door. Ricky's dream project and game changer discovery of Karl Pilkington is thoroughly utilized and projected in the most perfect way possible; it even changes one's perspective towards podcasts (if you have to start somewhere, start here). Supporting right by the side, Stephen Merchant helps bringing subjects and issues on table where Ricky mocks it brutally before Karl inputs his quirkiness perspective on it. The animation was a brilliant idea as it helps imagining, jumping on situation and giving a face to some random words that Ricky adds in now and then. The Ricky Gervais Show strengthens as it ages for the material resembles with the viewers and welcomes them in their discussion and arguments where one can not only be satisfied, have an opinion or even switch seats on a definite answers but also be thoroughly entertained throughout its runtime for its editing is way too sharp and not at all liberal.
richard-cattell If you're a fan of friends , how I met your mother , Big Bang theory and the like , this may not be for you , if , however , you like your comedy a bit more cerebral and can find humour in the ways of life , especially if you grew up In England in the 70s and 80s you will love this , three friends having a chat , but it's way more than that , these guys have accompanied me almost daily for the last ten years , their ramblings about all sorts of things are truly captivating, if you have a Sense of humour you can't fail to laugh as karl tries to get to grips with the world , sayings , quotes and the whole spectrum of life , again if you like brainless TV sitcoms based around someone popping their head round a door and muttering a completely unfunny line followed by hilarious laughter , look elsewhere you round headed buffoons
Troy B This is quite literally one of the funniest shows I have seen in my life. I have read all of the reviews and I have come to a conclusion, anyone who believes that "Rocky" Gervais isn't funny, but instead would sit down and indulge in a little "Modern Family" is best left silent. The conversations are inane, but that is what makes them hysterical. More over the friendship between the three of these guys is obvious, but this is what makes it fun. Honestly, if you prefer your comedy in the vain of the mass produced kind, by all means this won't be for you, but then it probably wasn't meant to be, was it? Awesomeness 10/10.
philb17 this is terrible. Worst thing on TV this year. Ricky seems to burst into, quite learly fake laughter, and the things he laughs at aren't at all humorous. The fact is Ricky Gervais has not hit anything like the hit that was the Office - though Extras was a welcome return to some sort of form - and the Ricky gervais Show is not much better. The fact he named it after himself also speaks volumes in the fact he is attempting to promote himself.a poorly written, dire show. I would not recommend this to anyone, even avid Ricky Gervais fansthank you
