All the Way Boys Audience Reviews

BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
Ensofter Overrated and overhyped
UnowPriceless hyped garbage
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
ironhorse_iv If you like this movie, you're just plane crazy! All the Way, Boys AKA Plane Crazy is a really chop up, badly done movie. Following their success, in 1970 spaghetti western, 'They Call Me Trinity', comedian actors, Terence Hill and Bud Spencer would pair up in over a dozen other films, using the formula of brawls and jokes established in that film. All the Way, Boys is the first film by Bud Spencer & Terence Hill that had both, play off, each other, that wasn't in the Wild West environment. Directed by Giuseppe Colizzi, the movie follows the story of Salud (Bud Spencer) and Plata (Terence Hill) as they eke out a living as bush pilots in South America. The plot is very confusing; at first, you think it's about them, faking plane crashes in order to collect the insurance money in a humorous heist movie, matter. Then the movie seem like a survivor tale, as one of the plane really crashes for real in the middle of the jungle, forcing them to survive. But no! After a month of wandering around, play out in a two minutes of film, in very insulting way, they find a diamond mining community operated by Mr. Ears (Reinhard Kolldehoff) with Plata and Salud decide to make a living by competing against him, by making delivery services by airplane. Then, maybe this is a funny 'rags to riches' type of a film. Sadly, none of these film genres really can describe this film. There is no main plot, as the movie doesn't give a clear answer to that. The movie plot, just jump around and around, as if they started filming without a script. The movie almost feels like a waste of time. Lots of pointless filler scenes with none of them, really connecting. It's really annoying. Don't get me wrong, it's very entertaining at times, just frustrating. The movie has a lot of cool tense scenes like billiards game, or the close call when their airplane nearly collision with another passenger plane, but I really wanted a clear cut story. I'm very serious, this movie really has no clue, what it wanted to be. It mixed, everything into one film, very awkwardly. The movie gives a very serious sad melodrama story about an old miner, Swarming Matto (Cyril Cusack) who then tells his tragic story to Salud, only to have Salud fall asleep during it. Is this supposed to funny or are we supposed to feel bad for this old guy? I having a hard time, figuring out if I should laugh or not. I find Matto to be the heart of the film and the most interesting, so when I saw what the filmmakers did to his character, toward the end. I was deeply disappointed. There is a 'treasure hunting adventure mystery' behind the old man's story, yet the movie moves with others things before it, like getting an injury man to a hospital in a dangerous night flight or having various slapstick fights or random musical dancing numbers at a bar. The movie has a lot of gaping plot-holes that are way too noticeable, not to care. Honestly, it felt very insulting to see them, escape prison, without telling us, how. Another is, how they manage to survive in the jungle for a month, before seeing the miner's town. A lot of this movie doesn't make, any sense. The movie has a lot of fake-out semi-endings, also. You would think the movie was over, when Matto reach the main city, but no, the movie had to go on and on. Honestly, this movie goes on and on, way too much. It never ends, like ever-lasting fist fight between the two title characters, which lasts until sunset, without a clear winner. One of the worst things about this film is awkward cuts. This movie was edited, very badly. The 90 minutes runtime version of this film is nearly unwatchable. Try to find the uncut 120 minute version, but it's virtually impossible to find. Other DVD versions like the ones that I watched were just a mess. It seem like it was copy from old VCR tapes, as it has a lot of recorded tracking problems. The English dubbing sounds quite dull. Overall: This movie nearly humorless, and really out there. Only the charms of the characters, the wonderful exotic South America locations and the alright catchy soundtrack by Guido and Maurizio De Angelis save this movie from being a complete failure. I can't recommended this film. Check out, Terence Hill & Bud Spencer's 1983's 'Go for it', instead. It's a better watch, than this film.
ma-cortes Likable Terence Hill and stocky Bud Spencer team up again as the valiant duo . The agreeable crew makes a new adventure movie plenty of fist-play , action and entertainment . This amusing film deal with ours intimate friends in South America , they're nowadays two pilots , the blue-eyes and sympathetic Terence Hill as Plata and a grumpy and goofy Bud Spencer as Salud ; as they are hired for crashing a plane for insurance money . They wind up ditching for real in the jungles of Amazon . The argument involves "Mr. Big", Reinhard Kolldehoff , who is buying the precious stones from the miners for much too little, and has nasties who keep the price down. Of course, they will combat thieves ,thugs and criminals .The 'big time' duo of Spaghetti Western with humor such as ¨They call me Trinity¨, ¨ Trinity is still my name ¨ and sequels as ¨Troublemakers¨ were run out and for that reason are transfered in modern era film , playing the police/action genre and adventures as ¨All the way boys¨ also titled ¨Plane crazy¨ . After that , they starred the successful ¨ Miami police series ¨, which belong the following : ¨Crime Busters¨ , ¨Superfuzz¨ and ¨supercops in Miami¨. The movie contains silly comedy , the usual slight fights and a little bit action including some car pursuits when Bud Spencer robs a police vehicle and is pursued by others .The humor is based on physical and personality differences of the starring , as Terence Hill is the sympathetic and brave hero and Bud Spencer is the corpulent and hunk man. As always several humorous struggles with no blood , neither violence . Enjoyable performance of Cryl Cusack , a veteran British with a long and prestigious career ; furthermore Riccardo Pizzuti ,habitual secondary in Hill-Spencer films . Mediocre cinematography and commercial musical score by the usual Guido and Maurizio De Angelis , including catching songs .The motion picture is regularly directed by Giuseppe Colizzi . Giuseppe directed a trilogy starred by Hill and Spencer as Cat Stevens and Hutch Bessy respectively. The first and superior and the best outing was ¨Dio Perdona..¨; the second installment is ¨Four gunmen of Ave Maria or Ace high ¨ with the great Elli Wallach and more camp tendencies ; and the third is ¨Boot Hill¨ with Woody Strode . Colizzi subsequently realized another buddy movie ¨Joe and Margherito¨ with Keith Carradine and Tom Skerrit until his early death at fifty years old . The flick will appeal to famous pair fans.
kakyoin132 Classic Spencer & Hill, in their first movie together not set in the west. Has all of the Spencer & Hill trademarks: non-cheesy good sentiments with cynical characters turning into heroes in the end, fist fights, totally evil bad guys. Great De Angelis brothers (Oliver Onions) soundtrack, fitting perfectly in the mood of the movie as usual. If you love the pair's other movies, go for it, and if you've never seen one this is a great start. Try to find the uncut version (120 minutes, but it's virtually impossible to find) or at least a version with a runtime of more than 90 minutes. Other versions (like the one in the Italian DVD) are a mess.
Stefan Kahrs As a teenager, I loved the Spencer/Hill films and this was one of my favorites. When I watched it again a few years ago I was a bit anxious that I might spoil my childhood memories by too clearly seeing its flaws now. I shouldn't have worried: although there are a few flaws (especially the overuse of fist fights and a quarter-hearted attempt at romance) it remains very entertaining. And you won't be able to get the catchy theme song out of your head. Our two heroes are push pilots of the lowest caliber somewhere in South America. The opening scene in which Bud Spencer flies one of these jokes with wings in bad weather conditions is a classic. First you think it is one of those 'hero overcomes impossible odds' kinds of scenes, and then it turns out not to be, and then, perhaps, it was such a scene after all, in a way. You see: I'm struggling to explain it without giving anything away, suffice it to say that it's clever and funny. The bad guys are mostly a bit lifeless, with the exception of Reinhard Kolldehoff who makes an excellent sleazy bastard, similar to the kinds Eduardo Fajardo uses to play.
