Cube Zero Audience Reviews

Cubussoli Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!
SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Scarlet The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
denis888 Well, where to begin? If first two films of Cube series were at least a riddle - who built it, why and what for, and that was largely left unanswered and enigmatic, this third installment suddenly plunges head on into this sphere and very quickly begins answering all the questions we can have. And was it a mistake. Sure, it was, and a huge one. Third Cube film is a total joke - it is silly, shallow, terribly kiddish and unpardonably kitsch. The cast is a huge mystery - who on earth would have chosen these awful actors who perform so lackluster and so poorly that any attempt at suspense is lost immediately. What is worse, several characters overplay and overdo so much they become clowns, jesters, mere buffoons, and again, any take on mystery is drowned in drabness. The CGI are nothing new, and in fact, I couldn't shake off a feeling I was watching some amateur Saw variation with same gore and not the same thrill. Again, there is no cohesion, no chemistry, no compassion for heroes, no idea why this awful mess was made. Zero on all levels, this is by far the Worst of all three.
david-sarkies I guess I preferred it when we didn't know who had built the cube or why they built it and that you never actually saw what was going on outside. However as another has suggested, even though we learn a bit more about what is going on, we are still left with a lot of unanswered questions. However, I guess the problem with sequels, as they all turn out to be, is that they can never capture the essence of the original.According to this film, if you wish to take this film as being connected to the original and not some poor attempt at trying to cash in on the success of the original, is that the cube is a government prison facility where people 'sign' consent forms so that they have the opportunity for freedom, as long as they can solve the puzzle and escape. The puzzle, in a sense, is actually designed to test weapons, though this doesn't really sit well with the original concept.I guess I liked the original concept better, particularly since in the original the characters' memories were not wiped, despite not knowing why they were there. The suggestion is that they were criminals, however one does wonder whether those in the original were actually criminals because in reality only one of them was actually a criminal. The others seemed to simply be there as a part of the puzzle, though we do wonder a bit about Quentin, due to his anger.I also liked the concept in the original about how they said that the facility may have at one stage had a purpose, but with the fluid nature of bureaucracy, the original purpose simply got lost in the files of paperwork and that the facility was simply completed because they had started it and as such they had to finish it, and once it was finished, they had to put people in there because, well, it had to be used. This, to me, seems to reflect much more on the absurdity of the modern industrial complex than what we have in this film, where the philosophical disappears to simply try to create a thriller that falls flat on its face.Further, with the suggestion that each of the characters in the original have the names of famous prisons also adds to the strange concepts that arise there, where as here, the further we move away from the brilliance of the original towards what is in effect an attempt to cash in on a popular concept, the nature of the names and of the characters cease to be of importance and simply come out as more faceless entities that seem to populate our Hollywood movies.
Leofwine_draca CUBE ZERO, the third and final instalment of the CUBE trilogy, is a prequel to the first movie that attempts to explain more of the background behind the cube installation in an interesting and entertaining way.The writers achieve this by presenting another round of participants battling against the various traps and tribulations, which are the goriest yet; the opening death sequence is grisly in the extreme and like something out of WISHMASTER. Running concurrently with this plotting is a behind-the-scenes scenario which shows something of the men who control the cube and their reasons for doing so.CUBE ZERO is a resolutely low-budget B-movie that gets by on genre goodwill, enthusiastic performances from a game cast and some effective special effects. Michael Riley's robo-eyed baddie is by far the most fun, but the rest of the characters work too - and, as ever, watching their interactions is a whole lot of fun.The twist ending is particularly worthwhile as it ties into the first CUBE in a neat and surprising way. This series may not be one to set your world on fire, but as ever, CUBE is a whole lot of fun.
yasenkiranov I went in to this movie with extremely low expectations, after seeing what a failure "Cube 2" was.Frankly,I thought "Cube Zero" was going to be even worse. One of the main reasons the first movie was so good, was the fact, that everything was shrouded in mystery.I knew, that "Cube Zero" was going to try to demystify the original and botch up the series even more.To my surprise-it didn't.The explanation they give us actually seems legit and they carefully leave some things still unknown. That part of the movie was,in my opinion, done flawlessly. The acting was OK for the most part. The gore effects weren't that good and in my opinion, they were unnecessary, but this isn't a really big problem. There are two things that really handicap the film.1.The group of cube guinea pigs. Most of the segments involving our new group are very, very similar to the first movie and it really breaks the overall flow.Plus you wouldn't care about those characters-THEY ARE FLAT.I think the scenes involving them could have been shortened.2.Jax.I hate this character.I really do.This guy is the most stereotypical Bond villain you can think off.I never, ever expected to see such a character in a movie like this.He seems so out of place. What were they thinking?Although it has some flaws,"Cube Zero" is a good movie and it manages to redeem the mistakes of "Cube 2:Hypercube".
