Best movie ever!

It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.

Dark Ride is a horror/slasher movie from the After Dark Horrorfest collection. A group of college kids take a road trip and decide to stop at a small town amusement park for some fun. They want to go into the 'dark ride' for some scares and they break into the ride in the middle of the night. But it's not all fun and games when an escaped psychiatric patient starts killing them one by one. This story is not new or original, but it is not the worst slasher film I have seen. I think being trapped inside a scary ride with a killer on the loose is one of the most terrifying scenarios one could imagine. The props alone are creepy enough. The acting is a bit weak and some of the special effects could be improved upon, but for a low budget teen slasher it is what's expected. If you love this genre, then I think you will be entertained by this just-above-mediocre flick. I give it 7 stars. Well for a slasher movie it delivers a great atmosphere into the genre, the film is although surprisingly scary and totally could become a cult classic in a decade, i would totally watch this film, any time this film would play i suggest this film for horror fans. It was fun exciting, and sick, although the ending did fall a bit

Dark Ride is a movie that could have been so much fun to watch. A slasher film in the most cliché possible way. Done by the book. College students going to on spring break, decide to go to a dark ride as a dare, smoke weed, tell a spooky ghost story about what happened in the dark ride, etc, etc. It starts off cliché but yet it starts off strong. I was intrigued and was drawn in. It was building up extremely well. The actors all did well, the set was very neat (think Child's Play 3 final act) and the antagonist was built up to be a very memorable character. It all falls in the third act where the slaughter actually begins. The actors seemed to play college students having fun pretty well but being terrified, and running for the lives, a different story. A lot of their emotion seemed fake. There was a scene where it clearly looked like they were trying to run for their lives, but the actual speed that they were walking in, and in the momentary pauses where one would wait for another to go through something were very unconvincing. And the ending was very disappointing. I didn't mind the "twist" but the way they did it almost seemed too obvious, and even then, it didn't really change anything for the better. The twist didn't make anything more sickening, and the way it ended abruptly made it seem like the twist didn't even have enough time to explain itself. This movie is only for horror movie fans who have nothing to watch. I wouldn't put it on anyone's list of must watch, more of a one watch and your done forever. You could find better.

Well basically this is the type of movie you get what you ask for with, its low budget and not afraid to admit it, its main cast is a group of obscure C list actors and character actors you would never assume would share the same screen, and the plot is pretty run of the mill...but I still gave it 6 and with good reason, ATMOSPHERE. Holes plot wise (not to mention I knew the ending within 15 minutes of watching), and a pretty hammy story stops it from being anything more than a tad above average but its shooting, and lighting is on point so it gets my approval at least for 1 watch, it does the best with what its given, its also nice to see the goalie from the big green is still getting work, I have always liked that guy for some reason.So yea Dark Ride- 6/10 on the cheesy horror scale, Troll 2 being a 1 and Return of The Living Dead being a 9.
