Edge of Madness Audience Reviews

Cebalord Very best movie i ever watch
CommentsXp Best movie ever!
Catangro After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
Loui Blair It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
spheckma In this movie titled 'The Edge of Madness' from the very beginning as the young woman travels across the snow we can start to believe where the title has come from as she is nearly frozen in her meager thread bear garments. Once is is found and as the story slowly unravels we are lead to believe one thing and then another as she admits to killing her husband. At first as the movies viewer we don't understand, but as the movie progresses we are made more aware of what has gone one. The entire movie gives you a definite feel of the bleakness she must feel and only because she is give some sympathy from an older woman and a handsome young widower does she come to different thoughts about what has happened. One reviewer called it a mystery and I guess it is as we don't know what is going to happy, but I just saw it as a mind that is mixed up by the turmoil it has endured. The acting is well done, and a handsome lesser known actor stands out. His name is Paul Johannson and he adopt the needed accent/dialect so it is most believable. All in all I loved the mood and the realism of the movie. A rare find.
wynnyk-2 This film elevates director Anne Wheeler into the category of top international filmmakers. See it once only for the brilliant performances of some of the finest Canadian actors. Without exception, the cast presents a beautiful, powerful rendering of the story. See it again for the smart, taut story that will have you shifting your perspectives and adjusting your reactions. And see it once more for its exquisite cinematography that leaves you craving the Canadian Prairie experience. Wheeler works with a tight crew of skilled Canadian craftspeople and their dedication to her vision helps create the intensely moving and engaging productions she consistently turns out. This film is art and entertainment and must be seen!
zeid A lot of mystery in this beautiful movie as a terrible story unravels (lots of flashbacks). Very good acting, especially from the main character, played by Caroline Dhavernas, about whom Victor Hugo might have coined his famous phrase: "You're not pretty, you're worse."Loved it: 9/10
bilhood I was happy to see this movie take place in Canada. I think Americans will appreciate this movie too. A darker story about homesteading and the challenges and hardships faced by the people trying to carve out a new life. Caroline Dhavernas was excellent.
