Filthy Audience Reviews

Tori Jaymes This is the first time I've written a comment to IMDb so don't accuse me of self-promoting anything. I watched FILTHY and will give it credit for a lot of things. First of all, Jennifer Bass as DANA played the part perfectly. She portrayed an excellently typical ladder-climbing, self-centered, business-suited, ratings-chaser, pantyhosed-cat of an anchor-babe (with a touch of germaphobic syndrome disorder thrown in for fun) who is so driven for an exclusive story that she lets herself get duped into a trap where she gets her cum-uppance through torture both mental and physical. A little revenge in the end polishes off the story. Who doesn't like to see "her kind" done in by any means possible?I mean, get real. What else do you need or are you looking for here? We get to see a bitchy, uptight, power-hungry ultra femme get taken down a notch or two—maybe even three. That does it for me. Admittedly, even I would have liked to see her stripped completely down but then again, (and maybe this is a girl thing) I would have shaved her head as a total humiliation but we all can't have everything we want in a movie.Everybody else played the part required as deviants doing decadent things that deviants do. That is what the film is about. Films of this nature are what they are—low budget, basic raw entertainment. I liked it.
jackson leigh What attempts to pass itself off as a near feature length production is actually a very deceptive short that showcases some of the worst excuses for film-making. Fans of bad acting will rejoice. Those that love and adore horrible special effects, unoriginal plot twists, lame situations, bad characterizations, and banal cinematography will be completely riveted to their seats. Filthy tries desperately to shock and scare but ultimately just fails. About every horror classic is ripped off, oops I mean played homage to. It is obvious that the filmmakers behind this low, low budget exercise in schlock cinema are horror fans, but they could have attempted to insert some originality into this mess. Instead, we get a lame rip off of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Figures since the film is only self distributed, meaning you get ripped off of fifteen dollars and some "filmmaker" ships you a DVD from his parents' basement. And speaking of parents' basements, is that where this film was shot, since it features some of the worst sets I have ever seen. Horror fans, please save your money, unless you desperately wish to burn a copy of this train wreck. Otherwise sit back and be insulted by the on screen "brutality." Every scene is poorly composed and shot and the direction for the actors is completely missing in action. Actually the only "brutality" is what the audience feels for having to endure this over long (and that's bad for a short), amateurish, and completely uneventful movie. Bravo guys, here's to another feature, I can't wait to see what you come up next, let's hope its even shorter.
AcidLoser69 I was so excited to see that my favorite online DVD retailer was offering this so I ordered it right away-and was NOT disappointed! While the film is only about a half hour in length, it still manages to shock and entertain at the same level as "House of 1000 Corpses" or "Last House on The Left". Obviously if the producers had more money, this could have been so much more, but the film was as cheap as the family and that's what makes it work. I found the character "MeatMan" to be quite interesting and intriguing. "MeatMan" is an obvious homage to "Leatherface" from the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" series and the entire scene he is in plays like the dinner table scene in "House/Corpses". Without giving too much away, I think fans of the sleazier end of exploitation cinema would find this quiet enjoyable and at only 30 minutes, you'll be begging for more "MeatMan"!
w00f A creative, succinct, excellent film. While amateurish in spots (due to a low budget and it's being an initial effort), the cast is excellent and the story is one-of-a-kind. It would be well worth any horror fan's time to travel far off the beaten path to see this film.I look forward to what the future holds for Lalino and the rest of his cadre with giddy anticipation. More! Encore!!!
