Godzilla: Final Wars Audience Reviews

Listonixio Fresh and Exciting
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Jenna Walter The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
O2D This time around there is lots of action.Sadly, that action is all humans and not monsters. When the monsters do show up, nothing makes sense.Once again, aliens have come to Earth and have taken the form of humans.A plot that has been done to death in these movies.Of course when they die they revert to their true form, ugh.For some reason the Mothra twins are in this and they are still the same age they were 60 years ago, ugh.I will never understand why Mothra exists or how people can accept it as a monster. So anyway, the action is all Jackie Chan meets The Matrix and it's somehow boring and confusing at the same time.As usual this movie raises more questions than it answers.A guy calls Godzilla "she" and that answers the question I have had for so long.Does that mean it is actually Son Of Godzilla's mom?Who knows? So a planet is going to crash into Earth and here comes the lameness.Godzilla sees it coming and uses her "fire" breath to blow it up.Which brings up so many questions. How did she know it was a threat when it was so far away? How could she blow it up but she can't harm a moth? Why would she even want to save Earth? She has spent more than half a century trying to destroy earth and now she wants to save it?And once again they have one character who speaks English. What's the deal with that? And this guy dresses like he's in the Russian army but he runs a group of mutants.Mutants who have NO powers. What is the point of them being mutants if all they can do is rip-off The Matrix? While this is definitely the best Godzilla movie I have seen, it's still a bad movie. If you must watch Godzilla, this may be the movie to see.
Michael O'Keefe FINAL WARS is a project to celebrate Godzilla's 50th birthday. Some of The King of the Monster's (Godzilla) most deadliest foes are turning up all around the world raising hell displaying their destructive ways. Showing up in places like Paris, Okinawa, Mnt. Fuji, New York City and Shanghai are some of the toughest monsters to battle Godzilla like, Rodan, Angurius, Mothra and Gigan. The United Nations summons help from the Earth Defense Force, made up of mutant fighters, to fight off these monsters. An alien mega-ship arrives to help in the earth's defense; but actually they are controlling the monsters. They need the inhabitants of earth to feed another world of Xilians. A huge monster named Monster X is released. The world seems doomed until a jailed Captain Douglas Morgan(Don Frye)recommends waking up Godzilla from his sleep at the South Pole. For so many years Godzilla spent his energy destroying portions of the world; now he will be enticed to defeat his old foes and the new Monster X to save earth.Subtitled in English. Kudos to director Ryhuei Kitamura and Keith Emerson for the music. Special effects need to be awesome and are. Also in the cast: Masahiro Matsuoka, Rei Kikukawa, Akira Takaranda, Kazuki Kitmura and Maki Mizuno.
jmillerdp Thoroughly wacky, WTF?! final edition of original Japanese studio Toho's Godzilla movies. This was the last one before they handed Godzilla over to the U.S. And, I am guessing, so Gareth Edwards could make his zero- fun, way-too-serious, almost-Godzilla-less 2014 version! As has been mentioned, a lot of the movie has "The Matrix" knockoff stuff, "Star Wars" knockoff stuff, etc. There is monster action at the beginning. Then, you have to wait until the one-hour mark to see more. But, the rest of the monster stuff is pretty good, with special appearances by Toho monsters of old!The highlight is (easily!) a hilarious badly-CGI'd appearance by the ill-fated 1998, Roland Emmerich-Dean Devlin U.S. Godzilla. And, what happens to him is too funny for words!Otherwise, pretty much required viewing for Godzilla fans. But, it is very unlikely to rate all that highly on fans' favorite lists!***** (5 Out of 10 Stars)
Claudio Carvalho When the aliens Xilians invade Earth, they release monsters to destroy the big cities. The Earth Defense Force formed by mutants is incapable to defeat the creatures. Commander Douglas Gordon (Don Frye) decides to unleash Godzilla that has been trapped for many years to fight against the monsters. Godzilla becomes the last hope on Earth to vanquish the evil aliens and the powerful Gigan. The overrated "Gojira: Fainaru uôzu" a.k.a. "Godizlla – Final Wars" is a cheesy and long mess with lame special effects. It is funny to see the crew speaking Japanese and Douglas Gordon speaking in English. My vote is four.Title (Brazil): "Godzilla – Batalha Final" ("Godzilla – Final Battle")
