Two sisters, Grace and Violet, bound together by more than blood, live a reclusive life in a large mansion, detached from society and reality too. They have a plan. It's hardly conventional, but the outcome nine months later is all that counts. Whatever they do they must not fall in love with the man that they choose to ensnare. Set in contemporary New England.

Silence Becomes You Audience Reviews

Solemplex To me, this movie is perfection.
SnoReptilePlenty Memorable, crazy movie
Ceticultsot Beautiful, moving film.
Cristal The movie really just wants to entertain people.
JamieWJackson I've rarely had a more unpleasant experience watching a movie than watching this one. The two sisters are Seriously Messed Up. We know that from, what, minute 3 of the movie? We never get much past that. Despite an hour and a half of material, much of it laden with seemingly significant flashbacks, we never quite get to what the hell is actually behind all this gauzy art-house pretentiousness. It's great to enjoy a movie, and clearly some people do enjoy this one. I'm happy for you if you're one of them. Seriously, though, if you are inspired by this movie to go out and make something similar, please consider making the following improvements on it so that the rest of us can enjoy it too: * At some point, get around to explaining the premise. We want to know what is happening. Being a tease is fine for the first X minutes of a movie, but not for the entire thing.* Let the audience connect (as in relate) to your characters sooner or later. Otherwise, we can't care about them. If they aren't real to us, their emotions are irrelevant to us.* Offer something beyond unpleasantness and tragedy, or prepare for obscurity (meaning, we aren't coming). We don't always need a shiny, happy ending, but let some sunshine at least threaten to break through somewhere along the line. Pure bleakness is always going to be a tough sell. Life already offers us that for free, if we simply go the wrong direction. Depicting it as invincible is depressing -- and unrealistic. If those kinds of major failures don't throw you off, maybe you'll like this movie. Otherwise, trust the low rating. It's deserved.
brightautumncolors First, I love "thinker" movies...but this one made me laugh within the first few minutes.Second, I come to IMDb because I love to read other interpretations of movies/films.Third, the reviews on this movie cracked me up and made me realize why I love human beings...our humor is priceless. You all rock! I have to disagree with the dude who said it was the worst movie of all time though...I've seen some doozies. You gotta love the cheese factor, I mean, once in awhile it's just fun to put in a really bad movie with some friends (or alone) and laugh it off. That or just come to IMDb and read the ingenious reviews. Rather eat shards of glass than watch this movie, you guys are freaking hilarious!
Francisco Arriagada I'd like to get this movie in a very much artistic way. The two sisters issue is a reflection of an experiment that a father did on his children. The alchemist topic in the movie is relevant just in the main history, but the personality of two sisters that connect each other and link their own thoughts (even with their dad's thoughts)is definitely a wonderful description of what the real art is. I remember the many scenes of Grace painting, and the messages the father left into her consciousness; all of that meaning that the art is life and life is art (a real paradox of an artist). This is just an example of many scenes in the film.I conclude that the movie is really worth to be seen, specially if you are an artist (musician, painter, writer, or any kind of art you do)
summoner131 At the time I write this comment, Silence Becomes You only have 3.5* , but it bases on opinion of a few people (in IMDb, 250 can be a few)so don't trust the number 3.5 if you want to watch an arty , indie film . Some guys here said that it's only look-a-like-arty but this statement only show that they don't know what is art or they just don't care anything when they didn't like a movie .In my opinion, every movie that can make me fell interested till the ending credit in a good movie. This movie did . Just like many indie films that some time have plot less scripts (this film's not) can put ending in everywhere but keep inside great emotion , have talented idea in prohibiting the theme (maybe very ordinary), show responsibility and thoughts in cinematography and soundtrack. Silence Become You is dark, is Gothic , is fantasy, is surreal and touching , truly romantic and sometime disturbing a little . Although its story is very simple but it isn't dumb. It's a gem with beautiful set (victorian interior with color scheme look like oil painting ), high quality pictures and awesome soundtrack .I won't say that this film's perfect but it's a completely worth seeing movie and being underrated.
