Alice Audience Reviews

HottWwjdIam There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.
Sanjeev Waters A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Kayden This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama
Allissa .Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
fraybert http://www.liquidation-dvd-sets.com/product.php?productid=3932344 Finally Alice is on DVD.....I grew up watching this series.....Loved all the shows even when FLO left.....A lot of people said the show was not as good when FLO, left...But to me a die hard fan, did not mind....Everyone brought something to the show.....I would love to see this in reruns on TV Land or somewhere....Cannot believe the DVD set of the complete TV series is under 100 bucks..Just hope the quality is good....What does everyone else thank of FLO's series...I thought it was okay, but it should have bee more revolved around another diner which FLO was the owner....Thanks
gregmay39 GREG MAY of Orlando, FL says: "I watch TV with discretion. And I feel I have good taste when it comes to television viewing. I LOVE ALICE! I looked forward to the show every week on the CBS Television Network. And the reason I loved her so much is because I LOVE LUCY! Do you get the connection? The same writers that penned the classic sitcom starring Lucille Ball also wrote Linda Lavin's situation comedy. And 'Alice' was the last of those great situation comedies! We will never forget the character of 'Flo' exclaiming 'Kiss My Grits!' or grouchy Mel as he forced his chili on his customers. Remember Earl? He first appeared on the series as another customer complaining about Mel's chili. Then they made him Tommy's coach from school. Earl was played by comedian DAVE MADDEN whom you'll remember as the harried agent 'Reuben Kincaid' on 'The Partridge Family' and from that ground-breaking show of the late 60's, 'Laugh-In'. You'll enjoy my article about meeting Dave Madden at www.Florida-backroads-travel.com."
Jordan_Haelend Honestly, I can't understand how garbage like this managed to last for 9 long years. It wasn't really funny, and it was thoroughly predictable. It was simply time-slot-filling junk.I can't see how the premise could have been viewed even at the time as anything other than a mass of clichés.Did people actually believe that this was good comedy in the 1970s? If so, I'm glad I missed that particular decade! It shows that the levels of taste and common sense were at least as low then as they are now! At the very least it shows to what depths TV was willing to descend in order to "entertain" people (i.e., keep them watching long enough to see the commercials.)
timmauk When I think of all the shows that are good and never last a season, and then here is a show that STINKS that last nine seasons! It just gets me upset. Flo was the funniest one of the bunch and her spinoff show was better than this one. Linda Lavin did make a good show later, "Conrad Bloom" but again the show was cancelled before the end of the season.
