"Just Shoot Me" was a highly successful American sitcom that ran for 7 seasons between 1997 and 2003. It's one of the finest television comedies you could ever hope to find, with a superb cast and a script that is consistently of the highest quality. In short, this is one show you can't afford to miss.The most crucial element to the show's success is probably it's excellent ensemble cast, who have such great chemistry and work so well together. Wendie Malick steals the show for me. She is flawless as the ex-Model whose personal life is full of dubious activities (and various substances!). Malick injects real humanity to Nina Van Horn. The character is, in my opinion, infinitely more interesting than the frankly ridiculous Karen Walker of rival show "Will and Grace". Laura San Giacomo gives a typically assured performance as Maya. George Segal is also superb, and David Spade can always be relied upon for a laugh.The writing is the spine of any Sitcom, and "Just Shoot Me!" has one of the best there is. Great, witty repartee between the characters and some pretty great character development go towards making this show what it is. Who ever thought the simple line "My friend Binny..." could be so hilarious? Why the show didn't pick up several Emmy's for it's cast and writers I'll never know. Truth is, it's much better than many of the shows that have triumphed at that particular awards show. Another great thing about the show is that it didn't outstay it's welcome - there were 7 great seasons of the show and it most definitely went out on top."Just Shoot Me!" is everything Sitcom should be. Witty, intelligent and with a wonderful cast portraying diverse and realistic characters. This is as good as it gets.

I used to watch "Just Shoot Me!" once in a while back when it was still airing on television (new episodes). It was canceled after a six year run from 1997 - 2003. Six years isn't bad, and neither were any of the episodes I saw.Some of the characters may seem reminiscent of other sitcoms, and surely the premise is fairly flat - a group of workers at a magazine corporation and their personal trials and tribulations.The funniest guy on the show has to be David Spade. I know a lot of people hate Spade, but in my opinion he is good at his type of humor - as long as he doesn't try too hard, he's funny."Just Shoot Me" may not be airing new episodes on television anymore, but the six years it DID air certainly provided some amusing situation comedy. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys "Friends" and "Third Rock from the Sun."

I found this show rather boring and annoying. I was shocked to find so many fans of the show and even more shocked to find that it ran for six years on NBC. OK, there's the main character, Maya, who is really annoying, boring and self-righteous. Then, everything always gets screwed up and the end is very predictable.I like David Spade, but his character bugs me, he always has sarcastic comments, and not in the good way, in the, "Enough Already!" way.Then there are all the other boring characters. You really have to have high tolerance to watch the LONG 30 minutes of it.

David Spade is great in this hilarious, yet underrated sitcom set in a New York about the staff of Blush, a fashion magazine in the tradition of REDBOOK. The show aired from 1997 to 2003 and while the later episodes were the better ones, the first season (just released to DVD along with the second season) contains some of the best episodes, including my personal favorite episode, titled "In Your Dreams". Despite the fact that the show never really had one main character, the stand out for me as always been David Spade. I've always been a big fan of David Spade and this show was perfect for him. As the assistant to Jack Gallo (the always wonderful George Segal), David Spade provided the show with much needed sarcasm and wise-cracking like only he can. This is especially evident in the first season and the second season.
Though the show was canceled last year, it remains in syndication and still remains one of the best sitcoms ever. My rating: 10/10
