Info

Mike and Angelo is a British sci-fi TV sitcom series, that ran on CITV between 16 March 1989 and 7 March 2000. It centres on Angelo, an alien who came from another world during the first series; the portal from his world being that of a wardrobe in one of the bedrooms. He lives with Mike King, and Mike's mother Rita. Later series had Mike and Rita move away, with Rita's nephew Mike Mason staying on in the house with housekeeper Katy. Together, Mike and Angelo get up to all kinds of crazy adventures - all within the vicinity of the house that they live in. Angelo is always inventing something crazy, or walking on the ceiling, or summoning up historical figures from the past. They always wreak havoc together, much to Katy's annoyance, crying "ANGELO!!" in her Scottish accent constantly or Rita in her Canadian accent before her. Their neighbours are the posh Fawkes-Bentleys, in whose house some of the show's scenes are occasionally based. The 1999 series began with Angelo and Katy reading a postcard explaining that Mike was having a good time in America. In his place, Daphne Fawkes-Bentley's niece Michaela became Angelo's sidekick. For the final series, Katy's nephew, also called Mike, joined. The final series was shown in 2000.

Mike and Angelo Audience Reviews

Cathardincu Surprisingly incoherent and boring
Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
miss gee This show was amazing, i remember it being one of the best children's shows around, and it ran for ages. mike and angelo, where he use to climb the walls, and land himself into trouble without meaning too! i ask my friends about this program and not all of them remember it, which is weird, but it would be amazing if they brought it back!!! the show, is one of my favourite old time children's shows! I really wish they would bring it back!! I remember angelo was the alien and he kept inventing things. i think mike was American, and he had really white hair, and they had the mother who was Scottish, i think her name was rita and they would have to cover up the trouble angelo got into! please bring this show back!
vdragan I am watching this nice series as rerun. Even i am to old for this in the moments of rest i enjoy watching it. The most important thing is that the series is intelligent and does not offer negative example to children. In the same time is amusing, that amusing, that adults enjoy. My favorite episode is when Katy has problem with loan, and begins to work for car seller. Parody of wild west is very funny. In the same time episode is showing kids how careful one should be when comes to money and loans. Excellent combination of fun and amusement. Costumes are interesting to.My review from 1 to 10 is 10+. Very nice and amusing:))) Dragan
louisemcmahon i used to love this show!!! it was so funny and even though i'm now 18 i still re watch my tapes of it and laugh out loud! my faveourite episode has to be the one where angelo creates the machine to make computer games come to life and the God Thaw attacks the house. this episode also stars one of the most funny characters Brett Douglas.
Howlin Wolf I feel duty bound to write a comment for this, if only because, up until this point, nobody else has. I remember it being one of my favourite shows as a kid, with the dynamic between the two male actors being surprisingly engaging; a sort of Pre-Teen "Two Ronnies", if you will. I couldn't bear the thought that such a neat little show might otherwise pass unrecognised. Plenty of extraordinary things happen, since the 'Angelo' of the title is an alien, and there was some great slapstick! It's a shame that nobody else seems to remember this quite as fondly as I do (at least fondly enough to deem it worthy of a few words!) Remember this: Classic T.V never dies!Oooh, I'm off on a nostalgia 'kick' now, it's maybe time to resurrect some other underappreciated favourities of mine, like the pioneering virtual reality gameshow classic: "Knightmare"...
