ECW Hardcore Heaven 1997 Audience Reviews

Rijndri Load of rubbish!!
Mjeteconer Just perfect...
Borserie it is finally so absorbing because it plays like a lyrical road odyssey that’s also a detective story.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
SlyGuy21 1st Match: Tazz vs Chris Candido, ECW World TV Championship. This is a really boring start to a show. You'd think both of these guys would be able to hold a match together, it's not like Tazz's matches are difficult anyway. They try to give Candido enough offense to justify it being 10 minutes, but it fails to connect in any way. The match drags on for 10 minutes, with no impressive moves or anything. Surprisingly boring, given the people involved. Rating: 1.5/52nd Match: Spike Dudley vs Bam Bam Bigelow. This is a just a squash, with Spike getting cut REAL bad on the ringpost. He even gets thrown into the 4th row by Bam Bam in a crazy spot. As simplistic as the match is, it's way better than the first match. Rating: 3/53rd Match: Rob Van Dam vs Al Snow. A decent match, with both guys showing off what they can do. They repeat a few spots here and there, which is kind of irksome, and the crowd's kind of been dead aside from a few moments. The match is OK, but could've been better. Rating: 3/54th Match: The Dudley Boyz vs PG-13, ECW World Tag Team Championships. Th Dudleys have Jenna Jameson with them, I'm guessing because they paid her a lot of money. I know one of the members of PG-13 is from the Nation of Domination, but aside from that, it feels like they're just here to lose to the Dudleys. Typical brawl stuff, but the crowd is more focused on Jameson, 3D gets the win for the Dudleys in another OK match. Rating: 3/55th Match: Tommy Dreamer vs Jerry Lawler. Lawler has been tearing ECW down since crashing one of their shows. As is typical of a Lawler match, he does whatever he can to make the crowd hate him. Ironically, this is probably the best Lawler match I've seen yet, brawling in the crowd, chair shots, runins from Rick Rude, Sunny, and Jake Roberts, and Tommy gets the win. It was cool of WWF to give ECW some more exposure, bonus points for how crazy the match is. Rating: 4/56th Match: Sabu vs Terry Funk vs Shane Douglas, Three-Way Dance for the ECW World Heavyweight Championship. Oh hey, it's Dean Douglas, remember him? I do. This is a rematch from a couple years before that put ECW on the map, apparently. I don't think it's as good as the main event from Barely Legal, but it's still better than most of the other matches on the card. The crowd is actually into these last 2 matches, which makes sense given the other ones really had no story. A few botches here and there, but nothing to kill the match. Sandman shows up to get revenge for a beatdown earlier, and Shane Douglas gets the win after 4 suplexes. An entertaining enough brawl to end the show, if a little too long. Rating: 3.5/5Final Rating: 6 out of 10. The first match sets a mediocre pace for the show, but the last two matches have a lot of good to them. If anything, watch for Spike's squash, and the last 2 matches.
amanwhorocks 1. ECW World TV TItle Match: Chris Candido Vs. Champ-Taz - HQ match, nice suplexes, nice action 9/10 2. Spike Dudley Vs. Bam Bam Bigelow - This was impossible BBB match. Squash but with nice moves! 9/10 3. Rob Van Dam Vs. Al Snow They rocked. 8.5/10 4.ECW Tag Team Title Match: PG-13 Vs. Champs-Dudley Boys 7/10 5. Jerry Lawler Vs. Tommy Dreamer - Very well scripted match, Lawler did a great job. 8/10 6. ECW World Heavyweight Title Match: The Franchise Shane Douglas Vs. Terry Funk Vs. Champ-Sabu Half hour fresh title match. WCW and WWF title matches were more boring in 1997-That's for sure. 8.5/10
