Naked Weapon Audience Reviews

Beanbioca As Good As It Gets
MoPoshy Absolutely brilliant
Taraparain Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
Brainsbell The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.
a_baron "Naked Weapon" has been called been called many things, but strangely the phrase child abuse doesn't seem to have been attached to it. What else would you call a film that in its second scene sees a young girl fighting a man, and in its third scene sees another one murdered because having been lured away by the mysterious Madam M, she wants to go home? There are plenty of things one can do with young girls, looking at them, simply admiring their beauty, is not only more edifying, it is also legal, feminist nonsense about objectification aside.Seriously, "Naked Weapon" is garbage, a bizarre fantasy, but garbage all the same. Admittedly it has something for everyone wrapped up in its wooden script: a gang rape scene, sex on the beach, even a hint of lesbianism along with the ludicrous fight scenes - which like so many in this genre defy the laws of physics; torture, nostalgia, and a Chinese special agent who can't speak his mother tongue. If you like action and mild special effects, you might find something here; the background music isn't that bad, but when you've said that, you've said it all.
Leofwine_draca While I love the brand of kick-ass martial-arts action usually served up by Hong Kong producers, NAKED WEAPON is one of those movies that falls down on the strength of its (many) fight scenes. The fights incorporate the kind of flashy cross-cutting that's used to disguise the inability of the participants to fight properly; it happens in a lot of Hollywood productions but not so many Chinese, mainly because Chinese actors are better fighters on the whole. Then, to add insult to injury, the film starts to utilise the kind of wirework/CGI heavy over stylised fights of THE MATRIX and CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON in which characters stand on each other's heads and perform physically impossible movies. It doesn't look cool, it's just silly. It's a shame, because the movie kicks off with a crowd-pleasing action sequence in which a RPG is fired at a car to explosive effect. Unfortunately, from that point in, it all goes downhill. The female protagonists are whisked off to a remote island, where they're trained in the arts of death for six years before being subjected to a tournament to discover the ultimate killer (sadly, unlike AZUMI, the film doesn't follow through with its promise here). Who the people are running this island, or where they get the millions it must cost to run such an operation, is never explored.Sadly, while former model Maggie Q looks the part as the female fighter, she doesn't really amount to all that much in the action stakes, leaving a bit of a vacuum at the film's core. The ever-reliable Daniel Wu does his best to fill that void with a decent supporting performance, but his character is left stranded on the sidelines for much of the running time and the rest of the cast is populated by terrible western actors (as usual with Hong Kong films, they're mostly Australians) giving embarrassingly awful turns. Sadly, when an all-action film has such disappointing fight scenes, it doesn't leave much reason to watch
tomimt 'Naked Weapon' is typical, no plot action film, that tries its best to keep the viewer interested with one action scene after another. No need to talk about acting with this film, as it was mostly mediocre, at worst horrible.Mysterious madame M (Almen Wong Pui-Ha) is kidnapping young girls and training them to be assassins, who use any weapons, including their bodies, they can find as deadly as possible. Three girls survive this brutal schooling, which ends in one of the most unintentionally funny rape scenes ever filmed. Then the girls hit the world and pointlessly kill some dudes and then there's this big end fight, but for some reason, well okay, the reason is told but it all is rather silly actually, the main baddies changes in the last minute... go figure.I won't say, that 'Naked Weapon' is a horrible film, but it certainly has no plot and it tends to get a bit boring at times, and that is saying something, as the length of the film is roughly 90 minutes and it is full of action. Worts thing about it is, that it actually does have good main idea, but sadly the rest of the film isn't in the same level as the beginning of the tale.Without sales bin I wouldn't have ever even known about this film. Now I do, though I have creeping suspicion, that I'll forget about it pretty soon.
dmoviefan This film bloody kicked arss. It was one of the coolest films i have like ever seen. It was the best film made by asians and i just couldn't believe hoe good the acting, stunts, fight scenes and killing was. By far this is the best film about assassins i have ever seen.It did seem a little bit sad at some bits but not many. It did seem to be a lot like charlies angels except the way they fought seemed a lot more violent. The fight scenes in this film were like the most awesome fight scenes i have like ever seen.It was good seeing all this blood, all this sex scenes in it and all these guns. The acting by maggie q was like the best i had like ever seen.
