Return of the Living Dead: Necropolis Audience Reviews

Diagonaldi Very well executed
Steineded How sad is this?
Plustown A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
Frances Chung Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Diane Ruth Ellory Elkayem has focused the full power of his directorial creativity and vision on producing a quite stunning horror film. The opening sequence is quite disturbing and appears to have been actually filmed at the Chernobyl reactor. Screen writers Aaron Stongoni and William Butler fashioned a script of unique insight and overwhelming terror, bringing incredible freshness to what might otherwise have been just one more entry in a tired genre. Here, however, the writers and director have breathed new life into the Living Dead franchise. The characters are imbued with humanity and depth and are not simply figures running desperately across a zombie infested landscape. Iconic screen legend Peter Coyotee gives a superbly odd and effective performance as a scientist involved with a company whose business is zombie control. It is some of his finest work in years and something that will not be forgotten. Elkayem makes excellent use of exotic Romanian locations to create a simply overwhelming atmosphere of fear and dread, using never-before-seen sights as backdrops for some of the most horrific scenes ever filmed. A powerful, important addition to the Zombie canon as well as to cinema itself.
GL84 After a motorcycle accident, a mysterious abduction leads a group of friends to break into a secure chemical complex that's experimenting with bringing the dead back to life and accidentally free them upon the facility forcing them to escape it's zombie-filled halls to get out. This was quite the fun and enjoyable effort that has a lot to like about it. One of the better features of this one is the rather enjoyable action here, which is incredibly fun for this one containing as much as it does. The entire second half here is practically built around action scenes which begins with the break-in here to their search of the facility grounds before the zombies are unleashed, which is the really enjoyable part of all this. Their initial release where they overwhelm the guards, the creatures overtaking the lobby and the swarming of the personnel makes for some highly exciting and thrilling scenes in here, and when combined with the action scenes against the group of friends makes this all the more fun. The fun here extends to a healthy amount of chasing through the building, shootouts attempting to escape and failing victim to traps laid out where the zombies get the drop on the gang trying to get out which make this all sorts of fun while also providing the kind of thrilling action needed to give this one the relentless pace this film features. Combined with the use of the deformed mutants and the police's containment efforts, these here are what work nicely in this section. Likewise, the fantastic make-up work on the zombies and the natural prosthetics used for the wounds and gore all make-up the film's good points which are enough to overcome he minor flaws here. The biggest flaw here is the incredibly contrived nature that sets this one in motion, which seems a bit too unrealistic to occur in this manner and seems far-fetched on the whole. The only other flaws to this one is the rather extended amount of time that occurs before anything stats as this one gets way too overlong with the shady experiments and the group hanging out beforehand which just slows this one down. The finale saves it, which is enough for this one to get a lot right about it.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language, and children-in-jeopardy.
Daman-Malone It really comes down to choice I guess. However one word describes this movie.....crap. There are so many flaws in this movie it is not even funny. Zombies goes down with a bullet to the belly, there motivation now is not to eat brains, but to fight. Fight you know like Bare knuckle fighting or specifically in this movie high school slapping. The story was so bad and all over the place that any studio should use this movie as a reason to make sure they check the scripts 5 times before funding. The acting is well...acting. When I watch movies like this, I always think some spoilt little, big mouth kid has begged like a little wiener to get his budget and loans to make his so-called 'HOLLYWOOD BLOCKBUSTER' movie...THE NEXT BIG THING.Some movies just shouldn't be make let alone associated with a classic spoof like in this case.
fullmoon-3 I expected the worst when I heard this movie was premiering on the Sci-Fi channel. I am a huge fan of campy horror films and this one was really good. Initially, I thought this was a made-for-TV movie. After I noticed it was released on DVD I figured, I liked the other ones, "Why not at least give this one a shot?" It was definitely not shot with TV in mind. It met my expectations for a film like this, yeah, it's bad, but in a good way. Yeah, it has bad acting, but who are we kidding? We aren't looking for Oscar-winning performances in a film like this. While it doesn't have the same charm as Return Of The Living Dead or the sequel. It still made me chuckle more than a couple times and had enough gore to please gore fans.I give it 5 out of 10.
