AnhartLinkin This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.
reixin I found this show to be sufficiently entertaining. It's not deep or thought provoking, but definitely watchable. I think the reason for the low ratings is that people are comparing it to similar shows that happened to be exceptional. I haven't seen those shows, and I would rank this as an 8/10 in comparison to a grand scheme of television dramas. It definitely runs at a plot twist-a-minute pace, which is great for keeping audiences engaged but not as great for depth or intriguing plot development. I am fine with that. Its the type of show you can watch while simultaneously engaged in other tasks because it doesn't thrive on subtleties. Plus Daniel Sunjata is easy on the eyes.
petaln2 The pilot Ep exudes so much substance, having great twists and amazing cast, albeit the acting seemed somewhat forced, however is rectified in subsequent episodes. This being typical of most new shows, is quite forgiving. The set up for the series is exciting and draws away from the cookie cutter standard law practice and crime fighting genres. The only defining similarities would be the familiar grit and up beat quirk and intelligence that made Boston Legal and House MD so great. Exactly what we have been missing for so long. Let's just hope they keep the comedic relief true to the format, witty and far away from the farce mistakes of the recent season drama crime series Blacklist. The Aram and Nevabi deal that really took away from the respect of the show. **Warning Spoiler** Thankfully the romance taking form for one pair of characters is minus the goofy awkwardness.Back to Notorious, all players show to be having intriguing stories that has so far hinted at more deep entangled relationships, keeping you guessing who's who and what's what. On top of such a great character set up, lies an unraveling main story which keeps you guessing and just to get you all worked up they have multitudes of new side stories which take form every episode. Just packed full of plot twists, witty dialogue and a pace that keeps your eyes on the screen. What a refreshing addition to the 2016 drama line up.
Danny Blankenship This new ABC series so far called "Notorious" I like as it's a legal drama with some sugar and spice and it blends well with headline themes of the media and the law dealing with high profile cases that involve themes of hype, drama, and scandal all while showing how the legal system has holes in it. Set in sunny and beautiful Los Angeles, California it involves the workings of a young hot shot criminal defense lawyer named Jake(Daniel Sunjata)who takes only the cases of the most high profile incidents and his clients are well known and rich. And to build up the hype and drama Jake features his cases on the network of powerhouse TV producer Julia George(Piper Perabo)who as a young hunger type ratings seeker features the stories and interviews on a show with a red head type cougar host who's one sexy colored bra wearing woman! This series is filled with sex, drama, and plenty of scandal showing that's how the law and media works when it involves the high profile as it's all about greed and hype to obtain ratings and money along with a good story!
Scott Miller This show wants to be a lot of things (behind-the-scenes drama, white- collar romance, mystery, legal procedural), and it might succeed at some of those if it weren't so dedicated to being a laughable soap -- and a girlie one at that. What do I mean by "girlie"? I mean that every woman on this show is self-empowered, while every guy on this show is either a wimp, a schemer, a liar, and/or is trying to figure out how to get the women to give him something. It's a feminist's dream, at the expense of any believability whatsoever. The only even remotely redeeming factor is that the mystery is actually pretty good. Unfortunately you have to wade through a lot of raw sewage to watch it. Not worth it for me.
